The prevalence of child sexual abuse is really not up to date and needs to be updated to the most recent statistics.  One of the most significant lessons obtained from reading the chapter is the exposition on the characteristics that define a sexually abused child. Understanding these signs is a very crucial aspect in professional practice, as it helps save the children just through observation, as most of them are often too scared to out the perpetrators of the crime. The importance of this reading is also that it can easily be applied in everyday life, as it breaks down a form of crime that often takes place unnoticed.

Therefore, this shows the importance of the topic of understanding family violence, and interpreting the lessons in practice to facilitate the eradication of the vice from the country and extending all over the world at large. This importance is underscored by the fact that current trends show how child prostitution is slowly becoming prevalent, and this starts with sexual harassment at home.
