Some of the inventions include tootsie rolls, as there was a disclosure of patents for can tins, in addition to canning jars. Americans thus stuck to consuming milk, meat, and vegetables from cans or even freezers (Jacobs). Moreover, they had increased willingness in consuming cereal from boxes and bread from potted packages. Besides, they consumed pies prepared by machines. The Americans exhibited a zealous desire to purchasing more commodities from stores instead of, producing them domestically.

In addition, additional gadgets such as toasters were readily available in order to cater for preparation of food within the family circle. It is imperative to say that the American diet became more industrialized. It is worth denoting that the foodscape in America tends to be vibrant. The immigrants continue to pioneer new foods in the states (Jacobs). This is due to global trade, which has offered wider choices of food to the Americans than before. However, there is a resurgence in domestic cooking.

Since the prices of groceries continue to rise whereas the consumer income tends to decrease, consumers now realize that cooking within the household increases value to their deteriorating budgets. This has generated a lot of interest in outdated food including meatloaf and cheese (Jacobs). This food is delicious, swift to make, and affordable thus showing up on many homes in the states. It is imperative to say that new technologies will prompt brisk changes to the food industry. It is worth concluding that culture and technology will affect prospect trends in the kitchen as well as food sustainability.
