Nutrition Introduction Technological advancements in the area of agriculture and nutrition has served boost the quality of food and consequently the nutritional value of food. However in this paper we are going to dwell on the methods of improving our diet without incorporating genetic engineering. Firstly, the author delves to give a comprehensive insight into genetically modified organisms. Furthermore, he gives a brief definition of GMO’s and their effect on the healthcare. In addition to that, he goes ahead to say that, sowing change as a way of improving food without changing the makeup of the plant.

Furthermore, he highlights on the effects of repeated use of these chemicals, as weeds would have become resistant to this chemicals and thus hard to get rid of and as a result, this has served to decrease the yields and at times no yields at all.What is sowing change? It can be described as the process of improving vegetables and fruits for instance tomatoes through artificially breeding different plants to create a new species with new traitsHow has seed innovation improved the quality of food?

It has improved the yields and quality of the foods produced.What are GMO’s? They are living organisms for instance plant that have gone through genetic engineering with the aim of improving the yields and nutrients. Is the use of chemicals such as pesticides harmful to vegetables and fruits? Yes, since in the case of repeated usage, plants become resistant to the chemicals thus they don’t die.` Are GMO’s safe for human consumption? Yes, but they cause ailments as a result prolonged ingestion.

Which alternative ways can be used instead of GMO’s? Sowing change, encouraging the use of seeds that have studied appropriately for instance hybrid seeds for corn among others What are the effects of GMO’s? They are said to cause cancer related ailments as a result of the chemicals used in the growing process. How can we limit the production of GMO’s? Through ensuring that only essential chemicals for instance manure which is manure are used instead of chemical fertilisers. How has the use of technology fostered the improvement in quality of yields in fruits?

Through the employment of modern techniques of agriculture for instance artificial breeding, there has been a development of new species of fruits for instance many chilly flavours which have improved quality of yields. How are the traditional modes of farming relevant to this day and age? They serve as a basis through which research can be carried out. For instance, in a bid to improve on seeds, one must first study the one in use before developing new one. In conclusion, genetically engineered organisms are harmful to the health of individuals and thus there is the need to incorporate and employ alternative ways of improving fruit and vegetables and consequently, agriculture.
