Many people and organizations including government officials in Africa consider GM technology as a poison and they do not wish to introduce this into their farming systems. These problems arise due to lack of awareness and education on the application of modern bio-technology among Africans.

Issues must be resolved and the public must be educated regarding potential economic benefits of GM crops. To control high level of poverty, malnutrition, hunger and low agricultural productivity in Africa advanced technologies like GM technologies must be put into practice. People are starving and children are dying in Africa as a result of malnutrition.GM technology is the fastest technology in the history of agriculture and it should be promoted since the world population is increasing day by day and more land is being used to built houses as a result of which agricultural lands are depleting.

Current evidence shows that GM technology has a great potential to improve agricultural productivity and farmers livelihood. Therefore GM technology must be allowed to overcome hunger and poverty in Africa. GM foods should be commercially Released to reduce the fear of consumption. Most of the food consumed in the USA contains GMOs and people do not even know what they are taking and yet no visible ill defects have Been detected as a result of GMO consumption. Africa can learn from USA that there is no harm in the application of this useful technology and the product can be consumed without any fear.
