Wireless Communication in Business In the turn of the new millennium, technological advancements also have its own phase-changing period. Highly developed innovations are now flocking in the market. You can find expensive and very advanced ones yet there are also those that are just cheap but are very useful. Wireless communication permits people much flexibility in communicating, because they can do so anywhere they want and with a less restrictions. According to Craig Mathias and Lisa Phifer in their article entitled "The Evolving Wireless Landscape", the wireless technology today is frankly amazing. They furthered that wireless technologies have made foremost development in their quest for broadband (Mathias, 2005). Wireless Technology and Business Wireless technology has also entered the world of business. The said modernism has helped the business world in different ways such as wireless monitoring in establishments, control devices; video streaming that allows easy access in communicating with people that are distant form each other. It also allows voice messaging, wireless access of the Web through mobile phones, and bar code scanning (Mathias, 2005). Furthermore, wireless technology enables people involve in business to easily access to whatever they need for their businesses. For instance, they can surf the net whenever they want through the help of mobile phones, laptop computers and broadband wireless communication. These assure constant freedom of stable access to the Internet with great speeds without the restriction of connection cables (Esmailzadeh, 2006). And with these, users could enhance productivity and accessibility. Benefits of Wireless Communication Wireless technology has of course its benefits especially to the world of business. They improve the convenience, dependability and appropriateness of communication thus, allowing people to, first is to stay steadily connected with other people in spite of the location and without being plugged into anything. It also saves time and money as well through cutting off seconds of usual tasks like tracking down people, examining items and receiving mission-critical warnings (Wailgum, 2006). Challenges of Wireless Communication There also noted challenges of this said technological advancement. First and foremost is that such technologies are now flooding in the market, giving buyers a lot of different choices making them very confusing to choose. Also, wireless technology is mainly limited compared to those wireless alternatives. There is also a delayed factor when it comes to wireless security. Moreover, decline of connections mirrors the inherent restrictions of signals that are easily blocked by physical obstructions like mountains, tunnels, buildings, and the noise produce by radios and the absence of cellular towers and sites in a specific region as well. Physical appearance of the technologies also hampers the great benefit a user can get. For example, small screens in personal digital assistants or PDAs and other wireless devices limit the user to view the screen at once. Also, short battery life duration indicates that the users must be careful in using the said gadgets and in charging the batteries as well (Wailgum, 2006). Just a year ago, Apple Computers launched one of it greatest product, the iPhone. Apple practically surpassed its competitors, with its magnificent graphical interface and user friendliness, the iphone got 37% of the market share of global mobile phone sales. This indeed has put Apple in the lead and supremacy in the digital mobile phone technology race. iPhone will practically change the way people live and do business. Its ability to access the Internet, great graphical interface, multi-touch function, big storage capacity and user friendliness will equip people and business to be mobile yet connected. One fascinating feature is the ability of the iphone to determine the its exact location using google maps, making it easier to find one's way to and forth any destination. It can also assist users in finding exact location of offices, buildings, streets, stores and its contacts. It's a new age compass in a digital device. Another fascinating feature of the iPhone, it can access it users emails through the exchange server and at the same time sync its contacts and calendars. For example you are on a business trip and would need to access a file on the server, with just 3 clicks away the information you need is there. Thus, The iphone extends the operation of business and business people as well. Years ago, businesses and people in business has een limited to the confines of their offices due to the need to be connected to the internet, now that we have the iphone, connectivity is no longer an issue. People can now access their email, surf the net, watch a movie, listen to favorite music, play games, capture photos all together using one single device such as the iphone. Business Applications The iPhone is practically a small computer in your pocket, it runs using MAC OSX, the same operating system that runs your mac laptop or desktops. Compatibility is not a question, but wait there is more, it can run the application that runs in home computers. One might ask, how can such a small device possible do all those things, the answer is its running on OSX. Apple was able to develop a small device with the power of a PC. It is small that you can put it in your pocket, yet so big because it can store great amount of information. It knows where you are and knows who you are. But wait there is more, Steve jobs invited all the developers in the world to develop applications for the iPhone. Developers can now develop using the native sdk that they used to develop MAC OSX. Imagine the possibilities, developers in various locations of the world can now develop games, applications, business application and many others. What is more fascinating is that the application will be available in the apps store wherein you can use your own iphone to download your favorite applications . Since Apple opened the gates for global development using wireless technology imagine what can be done in the next few years or so. The hardships of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak for pioneering in the information technology particularly in the architectural makeup of computers had been proven to be worth it because it had made them the two great Steve's of Apple. After securing the needed capital with only Steve Jobs parents' garage as their workplace and also securing their way on how their finished product would penetrate into the back then baby market for computers, they had then took this as their stepping stone for building their dreams. With their imagination and skills for computers, they had made themselves build one such big company that had surpasses challenges through such a long period of time. Their business in the digital economy is one such great model for others who would like also to invest in the vast field of information technology. The history of the Apple, the history of Steve Jobs, the history of Steve Wozniak, proves that there is something worth promising in IT development. Basically, these technological advancements that are very prominent nowadays are good evidences of remarkable imaginations that bring advantages to the present society. Wireless technology has become increasingly important in the world of business today especially that our society is very much embraced to the advances as well as to the business.
