This implies enormous data storage facilities, the bulkiness of files and the process of retrieving data is a major challenge.

Database systems improve the efficiency of existing processes. This is achieved through automating processes that were initially manual. Eventually, new processes are developed that are capable of transforming the business into digital entities;

For instance:

Information flow within an organization has been enhanced through end-user software such as Access.

Sequential steps are replaced with a parallel step which is fast. Access uses queries to create relations between a number of files that can be updated or manipulated by a single superuser.

It boosts the decision-making process. Access provides various reports on given criteria i.e. The Queen’s Inn in St. Johns data file has been used to categorize data into various fields e.g.  Rooms visited and rates can be used to determine customer’s responses to varying services and prices.

DBMS are real-time applications used in the day-to-day running of business enterprises. It can be used to provide reports on a firm’s current performance, collect data from different functions, and store data in a single central data repository. DBMS is more powerful in resolving problems related to fragmented data. The Queen’s Inn in St. Johns data table contains raw data. The data can be manipulated to show different variables of interest using the query function in Access. The various queries can be used to generate a clear outline report on various entities as illustrated in the access files.

Data is a key element in decision-making for every firm. Tracking each element is necessary in order to derive concrete answers to arising problems within an organization, i.e. The Queen’s Inn in St. Johns's raw data illustrates a simple hotel management system. It may be important to analyze each element in the data table and draw modules on the trends. The trend can be used to generate new ideas, decisions and improve in terms of services.

Recommendations

Data administration, information policy, and data quality assurance are essential for managing the firm’s data resources. Access, as the DBM tool, provides valid and reliable solutions to data management and record-keeping. This is incomparable to traditional method forms of manual data entry and manipulation. The future of decision-making relies explicitly on simplicity and efficiency to produce quality and maintain a high level of competence. Access provides these utilities in business management systems. DBMS should be widely used in administration work to achieve viable business and improve the presentation of information to the target market.
