Ridley describes the symbolic expression by analyzing the artifacts and roots of the human mind and evolution (Ridely 102). He explains the symbolic expression through the historical background, events, and experience that develops preconceptions concerning skin color, race, or ethnic background. It is one of the causes for discrimination prevailing in the minds of individuals that lead them to make biased decisions for people belonging to different racial and ethnic backgrounds. Barrack Obama is symbolized because of their skin color. It has been evident in history that Americans were perceived as corrupt and impure. As the commander-in-chief is a black American, due to this he has been symbolized with inferiority, the commander-in-chief can face great threats. To provide evidence for this perception Ridley in the video shows the past historical evidence in the ancient civilization and their perceptions and experiences with a particular race or caste (Griffin 132).

Similarly, one of the symbolic expressions of the nation towards the other nation can create a major difference due to which Barrack Obama can face severe threats on racial and ethnic grounds. The symbolic expression of religion is one of the major causes of discrimination in workplaces. Some of the employees at the workplace develop preferences for the workplace because of their religious backgrounds. Religious icons at workplaces can create strains and discrimination among other employees (especially minorities) on the bases of skin, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

It has globally impacted Muslim individuals throughout the world. The symbolic expression of Al-Qaeda has created an image of oppression in the mind of people for all Muslims in the world. To overcome the fragmentation in the retailing system, the firm should sell products either to import agents or wholesalers.
