Islamic Banking Introduction Islamic banking has grown over the last thirty years when it was almost unknown and has since expanded to be among the fastest growing international banks. There are more than two hundred Islamic banks spread in more than 70 countries globally. Although most of the countries in which the bank operates are mostly in the Muslim world, the bank has extended even to countries which are not predominantly Islamic. However, there are more Islamic institutions which this study will not take into consideration and they include companies such as Islamic insurance (takaful), Islamic investment houses, and commodity trading companies, among other institutions.2. Justification for the research proposalThere has been increasing number of people with growing interest in the Islamic banking as a phenomenon and a lot of questions have been raised on its differences from conventional banking.

This study will investigate the question that is often raised by most people whether it is an economic or a religious bank. 3. Objectives of the research 3.1 Broad objectivei. To investigate the influence of Islamic banking3.2 Specific objectivei. To determine if the Islamic banking mix economy and religionii. To investigate if the Islamic banking has become a global financial system iii. To investigate if the Islamic banking is open for non-Muslim to take part4. MethodologyThe success of the research depends on the use of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

The qualitative methods include interviews conducted face-to-face, online and over the telephone. The interviews cover standard closed question requiring a limited range of answers. This offers precision in categorization of the responses offered. Open-ended questions are also included to give a respondent a wide range of answers to express their opinions, interests, concerns, recommendations and disapprovals. This encourages honesty in the respondents’ answers hence facilitates the collection of valid data (Arun & Rachana 2000).4.1 Research designThe questionnaire was designed as the preferred survey instrument because it included all constructs of the proposed model to help in achieving the objectives of this study.

Quantitative and qualitative research methods will begin with the issue of questionnaires to respondents. The questionnaires offer a standard measure of results obtained and enables the performance of secondary research that includes simple regression and correlation. These will further analyze the responses of the customers of Islamic banking. 4.2 Data collection methods In this study, only the primary data will be used. The primary data will be collected based on interviews conducted face-to-face, online and over the telephone to reach the target group.

Primary data is appropriate for this study because it adds value that a researcher to the table. 4.3 sample frame and sample sizeThe sampling technique will enable the selection of respondents used in the research. Sampling will cover 200 customers of Islamic banking from various social groups, countries, occupations, educational level, ages, marital status among others. This ensures that the results obtained represent the opinions of the overall population rather than certain individuals (Lallo 2014).

The diversity in answers also reduces the possibility of biasness in the findings. 4.4 Data analysis techniquesBoth qualitative and quantitative research analyses will be used in the analysis of data after receiving the responses from the questions in the questionnaires. The questionnaires offer a standard measure of results obtained and enables the performance of secondary research that includes simple regression and correlation. These will further analyze the effects of perceptions of the customers on the Islamic banking. 5. Research structureChapter one will have the introduction.

Chapter two will have the literature review section. Chapter three will have the research methodology that will be used. Chapter four will present both qualitative and quantitative data obtained. Chapter five will have analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. Chapter six will include discussion of the results.
