Application Essay for Business Pro-School of the Contents Question 3 Question 2 3 Question 3 4 Question 4 5 References 6 Question 1 Vogel (2014) advocated that the business colleges are known for imparting education along with an all-round development of their student. They are trained in such a way that enables them to exceed in today’s world of competition. As a result, these colleges also demand talented bunch of students (Dubrin, 2015). I have high leadership skill that is highly required in managing business activities. In colleges, team works are very common. Often, teams are made to work in group presentation or for the preparation of a dissertation. I think that my leadership quality will help me to lead a team in such team activities. I am also a very good orator. I have always been an outspoken person and my ability to express has earned me accolades in high school. I have high expertise in decision making. I am calm and wise person and have all the skills that make me a good leader. I am also highly active in social activities. It is my special interest that I have developed after growing knowledge towards environmental degradation in our country. I try to participate in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes as I firmly believe that we are obliged to what nature has provided us and it is our duty to save the environment. All these features will contribute to the diversity of ideas and perspectives within the College of Business. Question 2 Hartman, Allen & Miguel (2015) believe that the first step of building a successful business venture is to execute great ideas by assembling a team which will help in bringing the ideas to life. The traits of a powerful leader are required in any field of life to achieve success. Honesty, ability to delegate, fine communication skill, good sense of humour, confidence, commitment, flexibility or adaptability, positive attitude, calmness and ability to inspire others, enthusiastic are some of the features that a good leader should carry (Lussier & Achua, 2015). I have always been highly influenced by some of the renowned leaders both from past and current eras like Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Jack Ma, Maria Klawe, Ken Chenault, Zhang Ruimin, etc. I try to adopt the motivational and resilience skills from Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. From the corporate leaders mentioned earlier, I have developed good communication skills, optimistic attitude and enhanced my adaptability skill. Good communication skill is an essential element which helps me to mingle with other team members (Sims & Quatro, 2015). I have experienced that positive attitude helps me to overcome any critical situation and it also eliminates initial fear that I earlier used to develop while encountering a problem. I personally believe that adaptability nature always helps an individual to easily get fit into any environment. In school, I was given the task of leading a team to make a power point presentation. I had to lead a team of 10 members. We discussed and I took everybody’s opinion in selecting a topic. Then, I distributed different tasks equally among other team members after consulting with them. We were required to do group study at each member’s house. Initially, it was tough for me because the members were not exactly my friends. However, I got accustomed to the situation rapidly. In the meanwhile, we faced some problems and I decided to conduct a group meeting to eliminate all misunderstandings. We successfully pulled our project with good remarks and all of us were appreciated because we were able to help each other and it was a great team effort. Question 3 As mentioned earlier, I have grown concern towards environmental issues recently. Since I am good at team work, I have also participated in various group works that deal with community service programmes. To make our community a better place to live, it is essential that we donate our time, skill and energy to a particular cause in our society (Rapkin, 2015). The activities that I have engaged myself in were also aimed at building up relationships among residents. Before volunteering, I have evaluated my beliefs and interest areas. I have always been concern towards the torture that animals face. I am a nature lover and have tried to employ myself in both animal care projects. I have been associated with Animal Asia and their programme named Dr. Dog. This is a unique programme where depressed persons are provided animal assisted therapy programmes (Animal Asia, 2014). In environmental projects, I have worked in recycling, conservation and waste management programmes along with local clean-up projects and wildlife preservation programmes. Nowadays, organisations are also highly involved in various CSR programmes that help them to achieve profit and also improve their brand image (Wood, 2015). I also try to give my time towards my community by conducting tutoring or literary programme, along with my friends, for those who are unable to attend school. It also helps me improve my English. These children are also provided free meal. Other than studies, there are also different sports activities that are needed for growing children. Question 4 According to Beck, Lu & Yang (2015) business activities essentially aim at increasing revenue earnings because all the private organisations intend to maximise their profit. This implies that finance management plays an important role in any company. Vernimmen, et al. (2014) emphasised that there had been growing demand for financial analyst in companies nowadays. I have always been curious about how companies manage their earnings and expenses. All these have motivated me to select Finance as my major paper. My career objective is to get placed in finance department of a company for which I intend to learn about the subject. Completion of the course will give me a better picture of all financial activities that are undertaken by a financial analyst. If I gain knowledge regarding budgetary planning, I will be able to help the company in formulating financial strategies. I think that the course will also help me to develop a deep understanding of the hard-core technical features of the subject. I believe in attaining an in-depth knowledge about the subject along with practical application which will help me achieve my career objective. References Animal Asia. (2014). Our Work.
