Business Entities A Pink Cupcake Bakery Business The type of entity that would be best to use to be able to run a pink cupcake bakery business wouldbe sole proprietorship. The benefits of running a sole proprietorship would include the ability to maintain full control of their business and running the business the way one is pleased without the interference of others. Profit retention is also another benefit of sole trader the business owner retains all the profits of the business. Private data in sole trader is kept private, unlike that of limited companies, which is necessarily made public after registration with Companies House.

Often, a small business, sole traders can offer a more personal service with local roots and ties. This can be more appealing to potential customers in the local community. In a sole proprietorship, there is no need to confer with other decision makers (Madura 23). Sole traders can make decisions quickly. Besides, they can act on them swiftly thus providing for the needs of their customers. ‘Sweet Cakes’ will be the name of the business. The first step taken was to check the way the name will look on the web, as part of a logo or on social media.

This point ensures creativity and the art of being brief. The name Sweet cakes is not only brief and easy to memorize, it is also a name that when put as part of a logo, on the web or on social media will portray beauty and therefore attractive to the eye. The connotations that the name evokes was also considered in coming up with the name Sweet cakes. By so doing, there was a need to ask questions the possibility of the name reflecting the business philosophy and culture and its ability to it appeal to the market (Pryor 30).

The uniqueness of the name was another key step that was considered. This name is peculiar in the sense that, it has not yet been claimed by others, online or offline. A quick web search and domain name search were the criteria I used to identify if there was any existing use. Intentional thinking came in as another step that was followed. This business at some point is expected to expand beyond borders. Therefore, while choosing this name, the thought was that, even if the business expands to other areas the name, ‘Sweet Cakes’ should still stick and be relevant.

Holiday Decorations Decorating is not bad. However, the decoration itself was a bad idea because when decorating for holidays one has to know the holiday, which they are decorating. In December, decorations are always meant for Christmas celebrations. The decorations made here are on the cash register and consists of a pink tree with cat ornaments and a cat menorah. Trees are never pink but green and if there has to be a tree representing a Christmas tree then it has to be green. An artificially made tree would be better and legal in the sense that by purchasing an artificial tree one avoids illegal cutting down of tree that is against the environmental laws.

The positioning of a green Christmas tree well decorated with homemade ornaments and brightly dyed popcorn garlands and lots of twinkling lights is of great essence. When the tree is positioned in the right place, for example, a corner within the business premise, the corner should be a strategic location where all are to notice the significance it has in making the whole building beautiful. There is also no need of putting on table a miniature pink tree decorated with tinsel because the single Christmas tree positioned at the corner will play the purpose of decoration.

On the tables, they can position Christmas card wishing their customers a merry Christmas. Keeping it simple and classy is one way of ensuring that you spend less and get the intended satisfaction. Bona Fide Occupational Qualification Bona fide occupational qualification is a hiring qualification that an employer or a business owner is allowed to consider while making resolutions about employing and retention of employees. The qualification should relate to an indispensable job duty. It is considered necessary for operation of the particular business.

One example of bona fide occupational qualifications is mandatory retirement ages for bus drivers and airline pilots, for safety reasons they use eyes to operate the machines. A race is a group of people united or classified together based on common history, nationality, or geographic distribution and skin color. Purporting that someone is not qualified to perform a particular job based on the place of origin or the color is discrimination at its peak since these are beliefs that are socially constructed and do not hold any waters as far as employment is concerned.

An example of a job that is not a bona fide occupational qualification is that of the position at a church such as janitor, it would be illegal to discriminate based religious denomination, as religion has no effect on a person's ability to fulfill the duties of the job.
