Dehydrated Business Plan: Business Carlstron Enterprises. created: 4/ 04 Overview of the Business, and Key Elements: Over the last century, owning a personal computer was a luxury, but with time, this notion changed. Computers have become a part and parcel of individuals present day life. Almost each and every household has a computer, making the demands of these gadgets high. During the 20th and the 21st century, people consider computers as an important element of their lives (Awe, 12). This is because it influences the manner in which they interact with their peers, and the manner in which they conduct their business operations. For instance, the current century is shaped by the emergence of the social media. People look for friends and associations in sights such as facebook, web2.0, and twitter (Pakroo and Marcia, 20). A large percentage of people access these sights by using the computers. Business men on the other hand peruse through the internet in search of information concerning their business activities (Murthy, 23). Murthy (25) further denotes that business organizations cannot achieve their objectives without using computers. Basing on this background, there is a ready market for computer products. On this note, it is advisable to invest in this sector, and to do this, an entrepreneur must have a business plan. A plan will help in raising funds for the business enterprise, and therefore set directions for the business. For instance, this plan identifies the computer services and products my business intends to offer, and the location of the business establishment. It identifies the scope of the business operations, and the managerial personnel. It also identifies the marketing strategies of the business establishment, its growth plan, and the expected sales revenues. It also identifies the capital required and whether there is a need for an investor. Products and Services offered: The computer products for sale are all computers hardware and software. This includes hardware components such as central processing units (CPUs), tfts, monitors, and a computer key board. The business also sells products such as Kaspersky’s; an anti-virus. The business concerns itself with the repair of broken computer parts, and the designing of websites for companies, and individual people. A central processing unit is a computer hardware whose main function is to carry the instructions of a computer program through logical and arithmetic operations of a computer system (Murthy, 34). It is a core requirement for a computer system to be complete. On this note there, these hardware’s will form a majority of the computer products that my organization will sell. Other products are the TFTS, the monitors, and the computer keyboards. My organization can also assemble these parts for purposes of producing a complete computer system. But this service will only depend on the requirements of the customer. Computer systems are also under attack from viruses, and other computer malwares. On this basis therefore, a computer system needs to have software’s that protects it from such kind of attacks. Basing on this need, my organization will seek to sell anti-virus and anti-malwares software such as Kaspersky. Kaspersky is effective in protecting computer systems from malware and virus attack (Murthy, 27). Basing on this notion, Kaspersky’s is a much sought after computer software, and it will prove to be profitable if we trade in it. The business establishment will also have a repair unit, composed of highly trained individuals on all manner computer maintenance and repairs (Perryer, 28). I believe this service is essential considering the nature of our business. For example, a customer might buy a product from us, and it becomes defective. The proper way is to repair the product, instead of returning back his or her cash. The business will also concern itself with the designing of websites, for individuals and corporate organizations. In the current digital age, business enterprises market their products through the internet, and to effectively do so, they must have a website. On this basis therefore, demand for web-developers is high, and provision of this service is a sure way of making profits. Location of the computer shop: The best place to locate my business enterprise is at Bahrain Manama center, and on the ground floor (Terterov, 17). This is because the place is dry, clean and has adequate electronic facility. This place is nearer to the road networks, and it is therefore easy to transport the computer softwares and hardwares for purposes of trade. For instance, the place has an exit and entry point. This makes it possible to carry the components of the computer systems, in and out of the building. The effect of this is that the business enterprise will not struggle in replacing its stock, and customers will find it convenient to transport their newly acquired assets. Another reason as to why this place is conducive for the computer shop is that it has enough space to create a work bench, and shelves, and a cabinet. The cabinet will be a place where employees of my organization will store the computer spare parts, while catalogs, reference materials and books will find their place at the shelves. The place is also spacious enough to accommodate a staff of five individuals, and a good number of computer hardwares and softwares. It is also possible to expand the place, as a result of business growth. The use of the workbench is to place broken computers on it, for purposes of repair (Rodgers and Esther, 22; Weber and Eric, 32). This is an important factor in making my choice concerning this location. This is because one of my main objectives of establishing this business enterprise is to ensure that it grows in relation to its profitability, and size. The electronic system at the center is good, and the location itself has enough power outlets. This is important because, I will be carrying out repairs on broken computers, and there is a need of having a separate electronic circuit that caters for the repairs and another one that carter for electronic appliances like freezers, and air conditioners (Percy and Richard, 43). This location is also convenient for the business because it is accessible to my target market. The people that I target are business entrepreneurs, students, and corporate organizations. The center houses many business organizations, who can benefit from the services that my organization will offer. Scope of Operations: This business organization seeks to serve the whole population of Manama, Bahrain. Manama, is the capital of the Kingdom, with an approximate population of 155, 000 people. Initially, the business organization will concentrate its operations at the Manama center, before opening branches at strategic places of the city (Strauss, 20). However, the main challenge that the organization is most likely to face is the availability of strategic business places for computer shop (Arens, David and Michael, 52). However, the following measures are put in place to ensure that the business operation is able to acquire the right places/ location for its business enterprises (Church and Allan, 12). 1. Setting aside funds that will help in the leasing of the property under consideration. 2. Booking business spaces, before it is vacant. This will ensure that if a tenant decides to leave the business premise, then the first business enterprises to have the right of acquiring the lease is my organization. 3. Entering into a joint venture with business corporations that are placed at strategic locations, for purposes of benefiting from their facilities. 4. Buying business buildings by using the profits emanating from the business organization. The business organization seeks to be the main enterprise in Manama, offering computer services. The objective and scope of the organization is to appeal to the various multinational companies operating in Manama, University institutions, students, and the general population at large. Acquiring this market will ensure the growth of the business organization, in relation to its profitability and size (McKeever, 47). On this note therefore, the business organization will manage to have the capital of opening branches all over the city. Business growth plan, marketing effort and managerial staff: As denoted earlier, the main objective of this business organization is to grow in relation to its profitability and size. Mendling (32) observes that the first step in achieving this objective is by hiring people who have knowledge on computer operations. The organization will have the department of marketing, which shall consist of three people. Their main responsibility is to develop an advertising plan that will make people know of the services our organization offers. In order for this department to carry out its services, they must have enough funds. On this basis, this department will receive a third of the organizations operating capital (Chapin, 71). This will help them advertise our services through the internet, yellow books, and develop brochures concerning the services our organization offers for distribution (Stutely, 76). The department of marketing will also consist of a sales person. The responsibility of this person is to sale the computer softwares, and hardwares. He is responsible for making orders from our suppliers, in case of a shortfall, and transporting the products to the premises of our customers, when there is a request. Due to these roles, a sales man is an important person for the business enterprise (Barrow and Paul, 12). Another important person for the business establishment is the computer technician. His main role is to repair the computers, and this is one of the main services that business establishment seeks to provide. There will be a cleaner, and a web-designer. I will provide services in web design, since I am skillful in the area. Apart from advertisements, another strategy of ensuring that there is a growth in our business operations is to engage in joint ventures with other like-minded business organizations (Mariotti and Caroline, 56). Engaging in a joint venture will enable the business establishment to benefit from the resources of the organization under considerations, and this will most definitely help our computer enterprises to achieve growth (Tyson and Jim, 65). Sales forecast and the capital required: The company expects to make a weekly sale of about 50 computer products. This is because of the strategic location of the business enterprise. The money that I need for this business is 3000 dollars. This money will carter for rent, and purchase of computer softwares and hardwares. It will also help in paying for the advertisement costs and salaries for members of my staff for the one month period before the business peaks. Because it is easy to acquire this capital from bank loans, I would not need an investor (Anari and James, 76). Conclusion: In conclusion, Carlstron enterprises will mainly concern itself with the sale of computer softwares and hardwares. Other services such as computer repairs and website development will complement the main products that the business organization seeks to offer. This is because, in a normal business operation, there are times when an individual will make losses, or profits. On this note therefore, it is important for a business organization to engage in other lines of production. This will help the organization to have other streams of revenue, and therefore it will protect itself from the consequences of losses that might occur in future. This plan identifies the critical role that its employees will play in ensuring that it achieves success. Employees in an organization are the components that drive the growth of a business establishment. Ability to attract highly qualified staff, is a plus to a business organization, and on this basis, Carlstron enterprises will seek to employ people who can prove that they have a passion for computers. This paper denotes that the marketing strategy that the business organization seeks to use is advertisements. Carlstron, through its marketing department seeks to conduct aggressive marketing of its products, for purposes of informing the population on its existence, and the kind of products the company offers. This is a sure way of capturing the computer market in Manama. In conclusion, I believe by following this plan, Carlstron enterprises will be a profitable business organization.
