? Assignment, Business Lecturer: What does it mean to Localise Software? Localisation of software’s a process undertaken to translate software information and messages from one language another. Whereby, some formats and characteristics may be adopted. Research indicates that localisation of software is a complex process because it involves adoption of local applications such as formats, dates and currencies (Lina and Multilizer Blog, 2011). Problems and Issues of Localising and Distributing Databases Worldwide Localisation and distribution of data base tend to be a complex process especially in a situation whereby, there large data base with a great size. Additionally, lack of established tools and techniques of converting centralised data management systems into decentralised form makes it quite challenging to localize and distribute databases world wide(O?zsu & Valduriez, 2011). In addition, insecurity and lack of established standards for localizing and distributing databases creates a significant challenge when localizing databases. In above connection, distribution and localisation of data tends to be time consuming as well as an expensive process. This is because one may be required to hire additional staffs to manage and operate database. The problem in ensuring that logarithms being utilized are correct might be experienced when localizing and distributing database world wide (O?zsu & Valduriez, 2011). Consequences of Global Data Communication Research indicates that global communication has not only facilitated communication but it has also open social, economic, cultural and political connection across the entire globe. Global data communication has been reported to increase the levels of economic activities such as finance and trade. Through global data communication people have abandoned the traditional communication approaches and have in turned embraced new methods of global data communication (Notto, 2005). This has been made possible due to cultural and technological exchange that had been taking place among people located in different parts of the world. In addition, global data communication has increased competition among different nations as each nation tries to become more competitive than the other. Global data communication has provided tools and products for networking purposes. This has further led to increase integration between different nations. However, despite having numerous positive consequences, global data communication also has negative consequences. Among the negative consequences include: environmental pollution whereby, disposal of ICT by-products into the environment can cause serious health problems. Additionally, global data communication has increase cyber crime and other ICT related crimes (Goudie & Cuff, 2002). 1-a) 1-b) steps in your assignment to correct the aforementioned mistakes. There are several steps of correcting data entry errors for instant if a mistake was made by putting the wrong name of the customer or product the following steps may be followed; The first step may involve finding the wrong customer name or product and deleting the wrong name, the second step may involve putting the correct name in all the areas with incorrect names/data. In above connection, one may decide to utilize action query to correct mistakes made when entering the data and names. When using this method one may first locate the query, secondly one may be required to open and click edit and putting the correct name/data. On the other hand, one may utilize other steps. One may first press Ctrl and Find, secondly, after the box has emerged one may press replace and find. Whereby, all incorrect items may be highlighted and replaced using control and replace command (Katz & Made Simple Learning, 2011). 1-c) how would you correct the problems associated with question 1-b? Problem associated with 1-b above may be corrected by deleting all the names and wrong price quotes and replacing them with correct data. In this case find and replace may be utilized. In above connection, the above problems may be corrected using access whereby, action query may be utilized to correct mistakes made (Beskeen, 2011). Additionally, spread sheet may be more appropriate for real sales-tracking application because it is easier to track sales as well as edit areas where errors were made when recording sales. Additionally, it is easier to analyse sales data using charts and graph in a spread unlike in other programs (Beskeen, 2011). 2-a) 2-b) 2-c).The location may be changed whereby. The location of Champion may be changed from Sydney to Perth 2-d) an image of the query 2 –e 2-f) Normalisation involves eliminating data problems and making sure that redundancy and data integrity has been maintained. Therefore, to remove repetitions and redundancy, data should be inserted and duplicated appropriate in all the areas where there is repetition of data. Secondly, the data in the data base may be modified and updates made at the same time. Additionally, data should be normalise one may utilize keys to make changes. Whereby, insertion, update and deletion keys may be utilized (Dewson, 2001). In above connection, database and spreadsheet may be compared. For instance m, computations in a spreadsheet program may be entered manually while other hand, data base requires utilization of tables. Additionally, data can be obtained easily just opening the spreadsheet while on the contrary; information may be obtained by typing the query as well as filtering. 2-g) The pros and cons of using a spreadsheet versus using a database. Database integrates various components that may be useful in presentation and formulation of data and relationships. For example it contains tables, queries and forms that provide the user with an opportunity of using various applications to make amendments. On the contrary spreadsheet has limited application as compared to data base (Fabozzi, 1998).Connectively, large amount of data may be installed in a data base unlike in a spreadsheet. In addition, data base provide user with a consistent data storage that can not be easily manipulated by authorized access because making any amendments certain rules must be strictly adhered to. However, data base has some disadvantages. Among the disadvantages include; it tends to be complicated to new users because one needs to follow certain rules. Connectively, data base make computations to be cumbersome since one must utilize tables and queries. However, the advantage of data base outweighs its disadvantages making it to be more appropriate than spreadsheet (Fabozzi, 1998). 3-a) 3-b) 3-c).There are different methods am carrying out speed internet speed test, among those methods include the AT&T high speed internet speed, which includes checking the speed, quality and performance of internet connections. In connection internet speed may be tested using the bandwidth meter online speed test which is based on testing the down loading speed and verifying that a modem has the required applications or flash (Hua & Pei, 2011). 3-d).The speed test are ranked according to their performance and Vast areas of applications attest that covers a wide range of application may be perceived to be better when compared to a test that only covers a selectively narrow range. Connectively, test which have a wider geographical diversification also are perceived better hence highly ranked. On the other hand, consumer taste is used to measure and ranking of this tests that is the more a test is used by people the more it is liked hence the better in rank (Hua & Pei, 2011). 4-a) The Work Break down Structure (WBS) for a campaign Task Number Task Description(Activities) Task Duration 1.0 Visiting States and Territories (Task1) 4Hours 1.1 Visiting shopping centre 4Hours 1.2 Visiting School 4Hours 1.3 Brought Flight and Accommodation 4Hours 1.4 Book Print Advertising for Campaigns 4 Hours 2.0 Site Visit Plan(Task2) 2.1 Shopping Centres Visit 4Hours 2.2 TV interviews 4Hours 4Hours 2.3 School/Hospital Visit 4 Hours 2.4 Print Media Interviews 4 Hours 1.5 Campaign Print Advertisement 2 Weeks 1.6 Print advertisement 1Day 1.7 TV interviews 1 Day 1.8 Local print media Interviews 1 Day 2.5 Accommodations 3 Days 4-b) ways you can use critical path analysis for planning the campaign Critical analysis involves a tool utilized for planning how the activities will be accomplished. Critical path analysis may be utilized in planning and managing how the campaigns will be conducted. This may be done by determining the campaign activities that will be undertaken by listing them in a table. Secondly, a schedule may be prepared; this schedule may used to draw network diagram that helps to indicate the activities that should be undertaken. The diagram may contain simple circles and arrows indicating the sequence of under taking the activities. Whereby, campaign activities such as mobilizing and informing the public bout one political manifestos may be given the first priority. This means that, activities that can not wait for completion of prior activities may be taken parallel with other activities. For example, posters may be published as political campaigns continue to be carried out via the social media Gregory & Institute of Public Relations, 2001). 4 –c) Explain how you can use critical path analysis for executing and monitoring the campaign progress Critical path analysis may be used to utilize in executing and monitoring campaign progress. Whereby, it helps in panning for activities that should be carried out first to ensure successful completion and attainment of campaign goals. Critical path analysis may be used to ensure proper scheduling of campaign activities in order to prevent overlapping of activities. In addition critical path help to ensure that there is no over or under utilization of the available resources. Connectively, critical path may be utilized to identify those activities that are lying behind schedule in order to accelerate them so that they can be completed on time. In above connection, critical path analysis may determine the shortest period when campaigns will be completed and ensure proper utilization of the available resources (Gregory & Institute of Public Relations, 2001). 4-d) Source: Author References Beskeen, D.
