Introduction A woman to be envied and admired is the kind of a person who knows what she wants even though she may not end up getting it. She keeps focused on the goal regardless of the distance that the goal seems to be. She knows her weaknesses and her strength. She is not afraid of expressing her standard. She is mindful of the people around her but also remembers that she has priority. She is determined but flexible. She does not cover her intellect or parade. She also knows when to join or vacate and is mostly relaxed with her skin. None of the statements above includes level of college degree, level of career, financial wealth or marital status. This does not mean that they are not important. Certainly, they are to the same degree they are essential to an individual. Those accomplishments are as an outcome of goal setting and realization for those precise successes (Lowrey, 1). Being a woman is all about self-improvement and self-help. One should make a plan. Making a decision of the goal that one wants to accomplish in life and within a definite period is vital. Women should do something to be remembered when they are no more. For instance, you may want your children to recall the fact that that you were the cleanest or for the flower you grew. Again voicing your dream is an important goal regardless of where you are. Learn to tell the world who you want to be and what you want in life. When you tell others, it means committing. Ladies should always be aware of whom they are and what they want to become takes much approach. Look inside and find the things that you are proud of and this can be seen as self-aid or self-development. Before looking for her weakness, a woman needs to know what she does best. In addition, strength awareness builds character and confidence (Lowrey 3). In today’s society, it is very important to have a role model to whom one can look upon for guidance. The role model should be a positive influencer, one that we can trust, relate to our situations and share information that can help us reach our goals and help us to solve a problem. This role model lays an important part in our lives and they assist us in making sound decisions. They help us more in mental and growth development. Woman/a female in public eyes catch the attention of very many people. They watch the way in which a woman conducts herself, the way she speak and how she treats others. Women should live by the saying that ‘to whom much is given, much is expected'. They should understand the importance of representing themselves and the family in responsible and responsible manner. Skylar Diggins’, one of the basketball players is one of the role models among women and she tries to help young girls by volunteering. She hosts number of free clinics, coaches many girls and speaks to them. She believes that this could help young girls realize their potential and set a higher bar for themselves (Diggings, 1&2). Most people in life have a role model who guides them. Reasons for these role models vary from one reason to another but the ideal they represent and the admiration they inspire is what makes them attractive. A role model should have the ability to give spiritual and moral values to an individual and stimulate a person to reach beyond one self. Today, the role models exposed to women are fashion related, interpersonal relationships, dating, marital as well as professional on careers. From Catholics’ point of view, blessed Virgin Mary remains the role model for all women at all times since they see her as an example of transcend and inclusive time and culture. Mary is seen as the perfect human being; in her, women of all walks of life can see what it means to be a woman in relationship with Christ. Women can learn fulfillment of existence of feminine by not aspiring to become a copy of masculine since such thoughts always distort the mission and vision of a female (Sommers, 1&2). Successful Women and What They Do There are women who have really worked hard and they are admired for that. They have refused to die without setting their print in the sand and they cannot accept any thing below average in life. They have ventured in business and examples of these entrepreneurs are Oprah Winfrey, the richest black woman in the world. Others include jenny Craig, Martha Stewart, Anita Roddick, Mary Kay Ash and Coco Chanel who started business from scratch and they have become multi billionaires. Most successful women possess an important characteristic – self-belief. They do not look for anybody to solve their problems. Instead, they believe that they are the problem solvers. Passion is another trait that most admired women posses because they do what they love most. Debbie fields made an enormous business for baking out of own passion (Martins, 1). Humble women who are willing to learn go a long way and become important people in the society. Things are changing fast in the world and women should therefore catch up. Successful women should keep on learning to update themselves. Another trait that women to be admired possess is the ability to handle critics. Successful women were able to reach their goals because they refused to be pinned down by negative comments. Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey have received criticisms heavily, yet they still walk head high. Ability to balance their acts between work and family is quite challenging and to succeed, they have to overcome these challenges (Martins, 1). Characteristics of successful women You see women all around you, becoming successful in avenues of life. They seem to have direction and clearly know when and what they are doing. You wonder how they have managed to look so calm and collected yet you know that they work full time and at the same time enjoy calm and happy home life. Certainly, there are traits that these women have in their life that makes them become who they are. Women are very resourceful and this is their advantage over men. For this reason, women must use the entire tool in their position to reach greater height. They must have strong base of experience and education to blend with interpersonal skills. Ambitions are other characteristics that successful women cannot do without. Queen Elizabeth gave up the chance in family in order to rule England and her own sister was imprisoned. Susan B. Anthony and many others risked being ostracized and imprisoned in order to spread message of women equality. In history, most women have been willing to do whatever is necessary to reach their goals (Asuccessfulwoman.com, 5). Since 1970s, the desire for economics, job satisfaction, independence and the need to achieve motivate women entrepreneurs. To become a prosperous businessperson, a woman has to be willing to put long hours and commitment to what they are doing. They have to be self-confident and realize that they need support from others. Again, women must be very intelligent. Amazingly, most successful were not A-material in their high schools. They might even have displayed problems in their behavior because they tended to be women who did not follow rules. The traits that teachers thought of as undesirable in class usually turn out to be highly innovative and effective when creative, responsible adults display them in this competitive world. For women to be very successful in life they have to be big dreamers and see themselves succeeding in managing others, finances and running businesses that have multi-branches internationally. As Squidoo.com records, successful women know how to run their businesses. They posses some traits to enable them become successful in what they do. If we looked deep into some women who have indulged in the business world like Hilary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Leona Helmsley, Margret Thatcher, Michele Obama and the like, we will find that they are so much into business affairs. They are mostly found in the business forefront and they are the keen decision makers at all levels. Successful women can have their careers in the industry, government and in all types of businesses. Furthermore, successful women usually focus on the things that they want and the steps that they are required to take in their lofty goals. Failure is an important aspect in the growth and development in one’s career. These women are stanch in planning their businesses, personal future and economics. They dedicate work to plan completion of what they started and they have a burning desire to plan. Throughout history, there are women who by examples have supported their husbands in their missions. For instance, Bridget of Sweden, Elizabeth of Hungary and a recent example is the wife of the Australian Famerfranz Jagarstatter, Franziska, who was executed for refusal to fight the Hitler’s army. His courageous wife after a long struggle aligned herself to the sacrifice of his life. A woman’s quintessence is best illustrated when she becomes a gift of love in this life. She can assert enormous influence by examples of guiding persuasively and not through dominance (Sommers, 3). Women who have struggled in life tend to have amazing and outstanding inner strength. They use diversity as their own strength. One becomes better and valuable at the end of the struggle. It is through struggling and trials that one’s soul can be strengthened, ambition inspired, success achieved and vision cleared. A strong-minded woman shows confidence, is empowered, posses a healthy image and takes responsibility for her life. She has goals and dream that are realizable. Such a woman commits long and short-term goals to writing, post them in plain sight, and then review them. When the goal is attained, they record it. They are driven by cause and look for the right chance in the market to make a move. Great women usually teach. People will want to know what ignited the fire within so that they can also become great women tomorrow. Such women have integrity and they do not need to victimize anybody in their path to emerge victorious. Integrity must be one of the traits that guides and is one of the core characters. It is good to live by conviction rather than by dollars. As one gains respect and trust, her company will grow (Thedivasthoughts.com, 1). Intelligent women know that they are constantly starting over. Instead of focusing on the time they lost, they pick up from where they are now and move forward. They should not lament over wasted time and actions. Higher achievers do no waste time in feeling sorry for themselves. Successful women know what life is all about. Money, relationships, cars, clothing, among others are nothing especially if they cannot bring joy. These women do not accept any excuses but change their minds when they want to. When they complete their goals, they reflect and evaluate their strategic plans. This gives control over one’s life experience. According to Nichols, a woman may be envied by many more people and may be admired and talked of by few particularly of her own sex who can say all type of unpleasant stuff that nastiness and lack of knowledge can suggest. They often conclude that if a woman has talent and taste for instance poetry, she must be overconfident of the talent and imagine herself greater to the rest of her sex; think that she is arrogant and vain regardless of her accomplishments. Men will like to converse with her but declare that she cannot be a wife material – a woman who would be above minding economic status of her family and would spend considerable time with her pen and paper (504). According to Engel, women’s wounds sometimes are so deep and their rage is usually so vicious and volatile. Such rage is more likely to be rooted in feelings of desertion, rejection and betrayal from childhood and often comes up and covers again in their relationships. This makes many women to become suicidal and can destroy their relationships with other people. It is important for one to tell which part of the rage is not yet solved from the past and what belong to the present. This rage, if unclear and perhaps become volatile, caries power that is dominant and if utilized usefully it can show true prospective as a woman. An example of how a woman can utilize their power is evident in Hindu religion, where Kali, a goddess of destruction and creation, shows the power that many women posses and need to develop in themselves, the challenge to set limits, to say no when necessary and to assert themselves. Kali’s rage can destroy, provide fire for transformation and create just like the women who can posses all this power (206). Engel further states that rage expression needs not to be only influential, but it should also be creative and focused. When a woman becomes aware of their rage, they must take accountability for giving it appearance and shape. Women should take out the rage and then convert the power of anger to energy that is creative. Containing the energy means asserting it productively but not dissipating it in unformed rage. Such women in history who have used their anger into powerful acts as transformation are like Rosa Parks, the American civil right activist who in 1955-1956 successfully sparked the Montgomery, Alabama city, in a city bus boycott when she was refused to offer her seat to a white man as ordered by the driver simply because she was black. Another woman is Rachel Carson, the American writer and biologist whose scientific thoroughness and precision made silent spring an authoritative warning for the increasing unlimited use of herbicides and pesticides. A woman should therefore experiment with different ways of expressing until they find a way to change rage and find true voice. Conclusion Women need a burning desire to change from where they are to a higher level, to a state that is more financially and emotionally comfortable for themselves and for the family. In a nutshell, women must realize that individual strength comes from inside and unless they dig deep enough, they cannot know if what they are is what they want to be or if some progress and changes are in order. Successful and admirable women usually make a difference in the society. They give back to others and they usually share their good fortune. They give their time to energy and knowledge and not just money. They understand the fact that supporting other women is important. To be envied and admired in the society, women should have a firm belief about themselves and hope to achieve true success. Nobody wants to back someone who is uncertain about his or her ability to follow through. Believing in yourself, self-sufficiency and knowing that you are capable make success come easily. All the way through the journey, a woman may find that what she wanted has not come to be or she may find out that it has been not been accomplished.
