the use of the x ray machine in the medical field. And how it was invented and how far it has come (technology wise) and also it

The discovery was actually accidental. The scientist found that invisible rays were emitted from a cathode ray tube and that these could penetrate wood and also paper. These rays were able to create a glow on a screen that was several years yards away. The glow was fluorescent. The screen that was observed was barium platinocyanide screen (Assmus, 10). The tube generating X-rays, the cathode rays was Crookes tube (Assmus, 10). The scientist made use of these properties to study the structure of bone of human hand. Several years after discovery of these rays, actual X-ray machines were invented. In 1900, it was discovered that radium rays are actually dangerous to skin. Radiology began to emerge as one of the medical specialities in 1900. Skill, the technical know-how and interpretation of image improved significantly (Linton, 27) X-rays are basically electromagnetic waves and their behavior is similar to light rays (Dendy, 48). However, their wavelengths are short. One useful property of the X-rays is, when the rays are directed towards a target that is of low density, they pass through the target uninterrupted. In case the target is of high density, like that of parts of human beings, the X-rays either get absorbed or are reflected. ...

How Technology Alters the Structure of Our Interests
In general, technology can be considered as the way in which methods can be used to solve problems, such as the use of tools, systems or machines. More specifically, the term can be used to apply to a collection of procedures, tools or machinery. For example, some of the more prominent recent technological advances could be considered, the internet, nuclear weapons and cell phones. The impacts that technology has on human civilization are many and varied. As humans continue to adapt and improve technology, these effects are likely to become more pronounced. …

How has technology influenced commercial aircraft to make them more eco-friendly and safer.
The transport sector is one of them. Over the recent years, manufacturers of various brands of vehicles, trucks and aircrafts have come up with designs that have increased fuel efficiencies. The result of this has been reduced green house gas (GHG) emissions from the sector. In aviation specifically, a four-pillar strategy has been identified as a mitigation measure to GHG emissions from the sector. The four pillars are efficient infrastructure, effective operations, improved technology and positive economic measures (Centro 98). Of the four, technology has proved to be the most important…

It thus preserves showcases talent and encourages artists to strive to produce excellent pieces in the form of digital media. The museum is also dedicated to providing an opportunity for experts to offer commentaries on how the culture and society is influenced by digital media (Adobe Museum of Digital Media par. 3). The museum has established a favorable relationship with the software company, Adobe Inc. with the possibility of encouraging the use of software products made by the latter. There are several things to expect from AMDM since it hosts exhibits drawn from different fields, ranging…
"How Stuff Works"
Immediately after the manual manuscripts were faced off in 1929, the use of punch cards came into existence, and this led to the development of impact character printers like the dot matrix. However, due to the technological revolution, better shaped printer known as Xerox was invented by Chester Carlson in the year 1938. This invention created provisions to the development of the modern lesser printer that are otherwise considered as the latest sophisticated type of printers in the current market. By 1953, Remington Rand facilitated the development of a propounded dot-matrix type of printer,…
Barbeque machine
The cost of designing the barbeque grill is reduced by using a hybrid strategy that will leverage the flexibility of industrial manufacturing with lowest advantages. Recycled metals can also be used. The running cost is reduced by covering the lid tightly thus shortening the cooking time. The grill uses little amount of charcoal depending on the amount of food to be cooked and the size of the charcoal box. The round grill barbecue is easy to operate. The food to be roasted is placed on an already lit grill, the cover put in place and the food allowed to cook. The tool set is used to flip and…

Refrigerator, how does it work?
This paper keenly discusses how refrigerator works as well as its history and associated design processes. Before the invention of the modern refrigerator, individuals used ice or snow to cool their food. One of the most known pioneers of the modern refrigerator was William Cullen. In 1748, Cullen invented the first refrigeration at the Glasgow University. Similarly, Oliver Evans, a renowned American inventor also contributed in the development of the refrigeration by inventing the vapor-compression refrigeration that was mostly used in 1805. The aim of this machine was to remove heat from…
