De-Icing on Airplanes The formation of ice on the body of the airplanes and other aero navigating systems has been a problem that faces the aero navigating systems in the world. Ice is mostly condensed or frozen carbon dioxide. It is formed as a result of minimal or unavailable oxygen due to high atmospheric pressure…

Introduction

This paper looks at the various systems used for de-icing in airplanes. The protection of engines and the aircrafts can take fundamental forms. One of them is the removal of ice once it has been formed, or probes be used to prevent it from forming. De-icing is the removal of ice, snow, or hoarfrost on the surface of the airplanes. However, deicing is correlated with anti-icing, which is defined as the use chemicals in the surfaces of the aircraft. The chemicals do not only de-ice but also stay put on a surface and prevent buildup of ice for a period, or hinder adhesion of ice to make mechanical removal easier. Therefore anti-icing is also a form of de-icing (Skybrary, 2012). Removing ice on the surface of the aero planes takes various forms. It can be done using chemical methods such as scrapping and pushing. In order to achieve this, heat must be applied on the surface of the plane, by using liquid or dry chemicals that are formed to decrease the freezing point of water. Such chemicals include alcohols, brines, salts, and glycols. Moreover, they can combine many of these chemicals in order to enhance their effectiveness. De-icing can also be done through the use of a protective layers such as the use of viscous liquid known as the anti-icing fluid on the surface of the aero plane to absorb the contaminate. ...

Possibility of developing voice recognition system in an aircraft
But with an increase in air traffic, thanks to the continued technological innovation in the world today, new methods of communication in aircrafts have been devised in order to curb increased traffic along with the errors that occurred with voice radio and the need to incorporate even the disabled into the profession of piloting (Adams, 2009). Able Flight is a non-profit organization, which…
The impact of airport design, development, operations, and funding sources on Airport systems.
Thus, to build new safety standards and maintain them to the highest level, an Act regarding aviation safety was passed on May 20, 1926. The Act made great beneficial impacts upon the airport design, development, operations, and funding sources. According to this Act, all aircraft should be properly checked and certified in order to be suitable for flight. The Act emphasized that the federal…
How has technology influenced commercial aircraft to make them more eco-friendly and safer.
The transport sector is one of them. Over the recent years, manufacturers of various brands of vehicles, trucks and aircrafts have come up with designs that have increased fuel efficiencies. The result of this has been reduced green house gas (GHG) emissions from the sector. In aviation specifically, a four-pillar strategy has been identified as a mitigation measure to GHG emissions from the…
Software Systems Choices - Amazon.com
In the beginning, amazon.com was just an online book store. However, as time went by, it grew to be more than that. Today, it has diversified its markets and now sells DVD’s; MP3 downloads, CDs, video games, software, electronics, food, furniture, apparel, and toys. In the countries where it operates in, it also offers shipping; internationally, for selected products it sells. This has really…
Dental Office Network Systems
Despite the robustness of the proposed network, the report will details its risks along with its benefits. Network Requirements The entire organization, which has five offices, must connect to a central repository where all data will be stored. Because of this reason, proposed network must have a server to store all files for the five offices. In addition, the need for a fast and reliable network…
Automated Manufacturing Process and/or Systems
A developed nation like Sweden doesn’t depend on labor intensive force when carrying out its engineering projects. It has invested massively in designing programmed machinery that work quicker and appropriately. The degree of freedom (DOF) of such equipment is multifaceted: translational, rotary, and angular. Invention and Creation of an Automated Manufacturing System Scientists, programmers and…
