Learning is often defined as an ongoing process that continues for a long period of time. The impact of play and learning is immense in shaping the fragile eggshell minds of children. Education plays an important role in enhancing the abilities to learn new tasks and skills but it is important to create an environment where children can learn at an early age. The research aims at assessing the impact and influence of play and learning in enhancing the social skills and academic performance of children.

However, the focus will be on the usefulness of play and learning activities in early childhood. In order to narrow the research scope, the researcher will focus on the comparative analysis of play and learning policies and objectives designed by the educational bodies of Scotland and Saudi Arabia. The early years of children are of great importance in terms of enhancing social skills and academic learning.Play and learning can be considered as cognitive tools creating a long-lasting impression over the minds of young children.

However, play and learning should be introduced at an early age so that children can be exposed to learning and development from an early age. This helps in strengthening their logical understanding and mindsets along with making them learn new things. Different countries have different learning programs based on their education system and policies. Developed countries tend to introduce a robust learning platform for children compared to developing and under-developing countries. This is because of the difference in the economic and social setups.

The research will focus on the need for learning programs for children before schooling along with identifying the difference between the learning and education policies of Scotland and Saudi Arabia. In order to underpin the research topic, the researcher has also developed the research aim and few objectives that will help in conducting the research in a systematic, critical and coherent manner.
