? Reflection and Improvement Analysis of New Forms of Leadership Changing social patterns, globalization and advanced technology have disrupted the education sector. Transformation has become important for education system in order to review and examine the education practices of several high schools. This part of the assignment will discuss about two new leadership forms, such as conceptualizing leadership and learning focused leadership that can support the school transformation process. Conceptualizing Leadership The leaders or teacher leaders are facing several complex problems in the transformation of schools. Leaders are seeking to transform their schools in order provide effective knowledge and education to the students (Joyner, Ben-Avie & Comer, 2004). The key conceptual framework would productively encompass the necessary cultural and structural change efforts. Moreover, effective conceptual framework can enhance significant pipeline development of leadership. However, major focus of this leadership process would be to improve the learning and teaching process. Learning Focused Leadership Learning focused leadership is another effective strategy that can enhance transformation of schools. Learning focused leadership comprises investment in instructional leadership, new working relations across and within levels, reinvention of leadership practice, persistent public focus on learning and evidence as a medium of leadership (Aguilera, 2008). The meaning of learning focused leadership is investing in individuals and positions across and within the schools. The primary objective of this learning focused leadership is instructional leadership. Conceptualizing leadership is more significant and effective among these two leadership styles. This leadership style generally focuses on effective learning process. Effective utilization of effective data and resources, and supreme engagement with the community has motivated me to adopt conceptualizing leadership strategy. Evaluation of Leadership Style There are several significances of conceptualizing leadership process. A teacher or a or a leader within the institution can enhance effective transformation of a school through the implementation of conceptualizing leadership process. Under this leadership style, the leader’s ability to offer a consistent and clear focus on learning for all the students would be considered as the central part of their job. Effective utilization of data and evidence can enhance instructional improvement. Moreover, this leadership style will help the leaders to align resources with the learning improvement goals. Under this process, the leaders generally try to reallocate their resources and develop incentives to meet specific instructional improvement goals. These construction roles help the leaders to focus on the improvement of learning process. The leaders seek to provide effective learning environment and seer knowledge to the students of the schools. At last, leaders focus on engaging community citizens, support providers and parents that can promote effective learning agenda. However, it is quite important to change the blueprint of education sector. The old traditional blue print is reducing the quality of education process and system. The conceptualization leadership process will help the leaders to transform the system of learning process of several schools and education institutions. Three ways to improve leadership style It is clear from above discussion that the education sector needs effective transformation process to meet social and cultural demand. There are several ways to improve the leadership style. First of all, the educational leaders should become the transformation leaders to implement effective change process. Successful transformation leaders should avail three capabilities like think ahead, deliver within and lead across to adopt and practice an effective transformation process (Covey, 2012). Transformation leaders should think ahead in a school transformation process by implementing significant vision and strategy. This vision and strategy should involve needs of society and objective of the transformation process. Deliver within is the second role of the transformation leaders. This can be achieved through the definition of the capabilities that are required for strong education outcomes. This capability needs transformation leaders to ensure sustainability during the specific transformation process. It is important to avail local institutions and civil servants that are actively empowered, engaged and supportive of school transformation. Leading across is recognized as third and most significant transformation capability. The transformational leaders should directly engage with all the key stakeholders during the framing, planning and implementation phases of transformation process in order to implement this. Three suggestions for professional development It is true that, the education leaders need to become transformation leaders to enhance the transformation process. The key challenges for these education leaders are to maintain a balance between three capabilities of delivering within, leading across and thinking ahead. Generally, several educational leaders spend 5-6 years in their position. This significant work experience helps them to become transformation leaders. Therefore, it can be stated that the educational leaders need to gain significant work experience to become transformation leader. This experience will enhance the decision making process. Learning in the context of responding, communicating and sharing with other learners will help in a professional development process. Communicating and sharing learning process will help to make other teachers more effective. Through this strategy, the schools or education institutions can meet the transformation objectives and goals. Transfer of knowledge and skills is recognized as another professional development process. Developing experience and prior learning can increase the competency and knowledge level of a teacher. Learners can process new information when they already know about several problems and unfamiliar situations. Two ways to promote accountability The transformation leaders need to take huge responsibility to complete the transformation process of schools. Conceptualization leadership style is quite important for the transformation process of schools. Under this leadership process, the teachers or the leaders within the school have to promote effective accountability in order to enhance the learning process. First of all, it is important for the managing committee to engage the experienced educational leaders to decision making process. Inadequate implementation of change strategy can affect the transformation process. Therefore, it is quite important for the schools’ managing committee to involve the teachers in this committee. Their vision and strategy about the transformation process can improve the educational learning process. Students can gather knowledge in more effective way. This process will help the institution or school to meet social and cultural demand. Community engagement is another key process that can enhance the learning process. The teachers can attain the suggestions and views of parent of the students about the learning and education process. It is highly important to change or reform the syllabus and course curriculum. This strategic process will help the students to attain significant knowledge about developed theories and subject matters. Involving skilled, experienced and knowledgeable teachers in the learning process help a school to produce effective learning. Theory of action to sustain school transformation It is important for an institution or an organization to think about future sustainability before the implementation of transformation process. The key stakeholders need to be engaged in the decision making process to enhance this transformation. In addition, the schools need to understand social and cultural stand of the nation before developing a particular transformation process. The institution should maintain work ethics and corporation value during this transformation process. Inadequate policies and actions can limit the reputation of a school as it is an educational process (Wanger, Kegan & Lahey, 2012). In several cases, changes in instructional norms can become effective aspect during the transformation process. The leaders need to focus on structural changes if it is necessary. The leaders need to avail learner centered, knowledge centered, community centered and assessment centered transforming lens in conceptualizing leadership process. The learner centered lens focuses on preconceptions. Knowledge centered lens focuses on the all the aspects in learning process. Assessment centered lens encourages the students to grab the opportunity to thinking and learning. On the other hand, community centered lens motivates a culture of respect and questioning. Two future problems Several problems can be developed due to the inadequate implementation of transformation process. Lack of effective communication between the leaders and stakeholders can make it difficult for the school to set up appropriate objective. This inadequate communication and decision making process can affect the learning process and future objectives. It is true that transformation process is required to overcome current challenges associated with education sector and provide effective education to the students of the schools. However, it is quite important for the leaders to discuss with all the board or committee members about the transformation process. Too much freedom and aggressiveness can hamper the development process. As a result, it can affect future transformation goals and objectives. Two solutions to those problems It is clear from above discussion that inadequate decision making process and poor tr5ansformation process can affect the learning process of a school. Following solutions will help to fix the above mentioned future problems. The stakeholders of the school need to be engaged in the decision making process along the transformational leaders in the board meeting. This collaboration process will help to develop a clear and effective future transformation goal. Some rules and regulations need to be developed by the director. This rules and regulations will help to maintain institutional ethics during the implementation of transformation process. References Aguilera, E. (2008). Urban School Leadership. London: ProQuest.
