There is something of a crisis in the Chinese education system. Chinese students, who have been overwhelmed by academic pressure received from a young age, have too few resources to help them make career decisions. I aspire to provide the resources for these young adults to successfully make the transition from school to society. First, I would like to help them find their true interest and passion. I am fortunate enough to have an undergraduate education from a top liberal arts college in the U.S., which provided me career exploration skills and allowed me to see the disadvantages of students at home. Through work and activities, I have collaborated with professionals from different industries, as well as with university students, further deepening my understanding of the challenges faced by students in China. I understand what must be done. Before I turn my vision into reality, I plan to continue to hone my business skills and increase my exposure by working in the consulting industry and through commitments like the Ai Community.
College life is colorful, and I made full use of all the opportunities to enrich myself. In my college time, I did not limit myself towards academic studies in my college. I participated in the Chinese Students Club and the Magic Club. This made me immersed in studies, and I had interactions with other schoolmates.
I had lots of bloody school stuff. As education matters a lot, the education institute is as important as education. A better institute make the life of single individual and that’s what my reason quitting from my ex-institute and transferring my further education in New York University.
Currently, although I like my job, I seek to enhance my skills and knowledge so that I can land a better position, either within the firm I am now working with or in another company.
But besides getting a higher paying job, the ulterior reason for my higher education is personal growth.
I am an Indonesian girl but Chinese born and thus also facing problem of race riots in Indonesia. The family to which I belong is narrow minded as their traditions do not allow them to send a girl alone across the border for further studies and do not support the education of the girls.
I decided to put my education on hold until a more opportune time came about. I didn't see this as an obstacle to my education, but rather one more learning experience on my road to a college degree.
Having the chance to nurture and see my children enter school has given me the time and focus to return to school.
I was so much involved in these topics that I continued to study these subjects even at higher level. Excellent achievement in grades was another support for me to continue in the chosen direction. By the time I completed my high school studies, based on my liking for the subjects, I had already decided to opt for accounts, finance and banking (may choose one to which applying) as my career.
First, I would like to help them find their true interest and passion. The truth is that career exploration should start as early as high school, since most students in China decide on their majors before they enter university.
I have often come across the barbarian punishment system in my country, with the accursed never being extended any assistance or opportunity for proving his innocence. Thus, driven by a deep rooted yearning to make a difference within my society, after completing my higher secondary education, I have decided to take up a degree program law.
