The schools were formed for the purpose of educating but they ended up with devastating results due to their deviation from their goal of providing education. The residential schools run in Canada were mostly run by Christian missionaries. The residential schools are believed to play a negative role in the lives of many natives as these natives had been physically and sexually abused at many instances in the schools. This issue became highlighted after these acts were revealed by some of the natives. Moreover even some native leaders came ahead and spoke about the abuse that they had to face in these residential schools and their public statements further served to highlight this issue. This paper stresses that the Residential Schools faced from unhygienic conditions because of which the natives suffered from different kinds of diseases. Smallpox and tuberculosis were seen to be common in the natives who studied in these schools because of these conditions. They also paved a platform for the enmity between the natives and the government as they created a difference between the goals of the government and the goals of the natives. The film, education as we see it entails a story about alienation experienced by many students in residential schools, in Canada. The film depicts the educational decisions taken by the Canadian government on the Aboriginal community.
Natives peoples inhabit every state, come from many different religious background, have different lived experiences and understand the world in very different ways (Moses and Goldie 21). One of the most interesting things about it is that it has a freeness with language, for instance, which probably emerges from the combination of the difficulty of producing literature in indigenous languages, combined with a deep and sad humor of understanding the irony of producing indigenous literature in the language of the colonizing people who took native land.
However, the interesting fact is that various researchers hold various views regarding the exact causes of childhood obesity. The reasons range from lack of physical activity, variations in nutrition, environmental factors, and genetics. Out of them, physical activity and diet are the most noticeable ones as both are easily changeable.
