Ethics is defined by most dictionaries as “dealing with what is good or bad, right or wrong” (Barker, 2011). In context to the health care profession, ethics refers to the principles that must guide the behaviour of a professional in a particular situation (Barker, 2011).
Value development doesn't require special efforts, but it certainly requires utmost care in the upbringing and development of the individual or a group of individuals. The individual gains values from what she sees in her surroundings and in her elders.
