The education system in most countries is viewed as a solution to economic, social, and political problems of the economy at that particular time. Education policies are therefore, formulated in such contexts and the education system in Britain was not an exception.
While religious education has been implemented since time immemorial to improve religious and moral awareness of an individual, the citizenship education is a fairly new concept arising essentially due to peculiar characteristics of lack of awareness about citizenship and its responsibilities among the people, cross cultural mixes now visible in many developed and developing countries and migration of people from all corners of the world into alien societies.
Therefore, the evolution of British system of education, policy changes through the ages, the economical and social factors that affected education system in England etc, would make an interesting study.
The education system of UK was well evolved in comparison with other nations even during the colonial past.
As Christians, I do believe that we should maximize the use of technology in living the Christian way of life and to learn and share the good news of God. Even the Bible states so. In the Old Testament it has been prophesied that technology will flourish, when God said to Daniel, 1"many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased".
According to the report there is a British Home Education program, authorized by the government, for those who do not want to attend a regular school.
