The research paper discusses the topic Arabic Students in UK: Reasons for staying, challenges, difficulties and experiences through the demographic questionnaire prior the interview and finds out why Arabic students decide to apply and study in London. As reported, the number of foreign students in UK is rising. It has increased and doubled since 2007. Recently, the government has imposed new rules regarding foreigners studying in UK. ‘All colleges and universities that want to recruit foreign students will now need a license to do so and will have to take greater responsibility for their international students, helping Government crack down on bogus colleges who abuse the system. For the first time education providers face a ban on bringing over international students if they fail to follow strict new rules - including alerting the UK Border Agency (UKBA) if students fail to enroll.’ Even though, the government has imposed strict rules regarding enrolment of foreign students, still, the students all across different nations are persistent to study in Europe. This paper aims to investigate the reasons of Arabic students to continuously pursue a scholarship in Europe, the reasons of staying in a foreign country, the challenges and difficulties encountered and still encountering. Futhermore, this study aims to investigate how each Arabic student cope with the challenges that they are facing in European universities. FINDINGS FROM THE GROUP DISCUSSION: As the students selected for the group discussion were selected from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds therefore, the answers obtained vary from person to person. The results were derived from seven students who took part in group discussion that were asked 9 questions on their language skills, interest and area for further improvements.
This method was believed to have the most advantages to the study of underachievement of Arabic students in the U.K context due to the need to conduct generative research because of the small amounts of previous literature in this area. The results yielded aggregate data concerning the country of origin of the students, their length of residency in U.K, their age and grade level, the number of schools that students had attended, the subjects that they had difficulty in, the reasons why they had difficulties, what they liked about the school, and the extra-curricular activities they were involved in.
