After uncovering 177 articles, only six articles were shortlisted since these are the only ones which are from higher education. The next step was to review and analyze the articles to evaluate its quality and relevance to the research being conducted. The six articles were then summarized using a standard form. A cross-comparison of the articles was then made to illustrate the common features of the studies. Most of the articles have similarities such as the research questions, the delimitations of the publications used, clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria (Major & Savin-Baden, 2010). Moreover, the synthesis process was described in most of the articles used in the study.
