However, after doing this project I became more conscious of its importance in society. These foundations have to power to improve lives of individuals, communities and the society as a whole. I realized that it is not enough that we accumulate wealth while other people are dying of hunger. Each one has a responsibility to help those in need. I was fortunate enough to start a chain reaction in the school that made others move into the action of helping. The project encouraged voluntarism and helped build solidarity in the school, moving towards one common goal of alleviating the lives of the poor. Helping charitable institutions is a way of spreading love and kindness to people who are not only in need of material things, but rather, longing for affection from other people. All over the world, poverty is a serious problem; thus, there is a need for each one of us to reach out and do our part in ameliorating the lives of the poor. Given our project in English, I chose the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I thought to myself, now is my chance to help in the advancement of the lives of the less fortunate. While most of my classmates made PowerPoint presentations, I used my creativeness to make an entertaining hip hop music video. I gathered all the information I needed, wrote the music and lyrics of the song and recorded it. My teacher was very much impressed with what I did that she showed the video to the other English classes.
