Response to Intervention Response to Intervention or RTI is a program for academic intervention adhered to in the United States of America. The main objective of RTI is to extend systematic and organized intervention to the students who have difficulty learning, at an early stage. The primary advantage of RTI is that it dilutes the chances of academic failure by resorting to research based intensive interventions for children who have learning difficulties (Brown-Chidsey & Steege, 2005, p. 3).
