Methodology Variable Impact of HCT establishment in the Western region has lead to increase in graduation 2. Hypothesis Researchers believe that establishment of the HCT colleges in the Western region could be the reason behind the increase in the number of graduates. People in the Western region lacked easy access to the colleges, which could be why most of them were not enrolled in the colleges at the time. 3. Type of DataThe data to be collected is information on how residents and students in the Western region feel about the establishment of HCT colleges around the area.4. Method of Data Collection (Kothari, 2005)Qualitative method of data collection seemed to be most suited for the research, as it would allow face-to-face communication in the field while collecting the data.

This ensures that the data collected is real, and no forms of discrepancies are available. The primary sources of data used include:Questionnaires- the questionnaires will be handed out door to door to the participants while. Open-ended questionnaires would be more appropriate to ensure that the participants feel they can speak their mind and are not restricted in any way. In addition, the questionnaires will also be handed out to the students in class to get their views.Interviews on mostly the administrators of the HCT and the workers in the ministry of education.

Focus groups will also be used. The participants will be grouped in accordance to age and areas where they reside to get their views on how the establishment of HCT colleges has affected the Western region.5. Sample Size and Methods of SamplingSimple random sampling was used to guarantee that all different points of view are taken into consideration. This will help in ascertaining that the data collected is accurate and that it reflects what the entire population believes and not just a partial part of the population is used in the analysis (Kothari, 2005).
