Furthermore, in Isla Vista, peer attitudes determine the level of security and safety, which students obtain in the college campus (Counseling and Student Support Office, “Bullying at School”). According to my perspective, where aggressive attitudes can generate unsafe environment in school campus, a caring attitude can ensure safety and security for every type of students irrespective of cultural barriers. Besides, I would also prefer to mention that peers can make any bullying intervention program successful. By demonstrating a positive behavior, they can eliminate any violent problem in school campus and therefore support in developing better relationship with every students (Furlong, Felix, Sharkey and Larson 11-15). Hence, from my personal viewpoint, my peers have imposed a strong influence on my sense of safe and security in Isla Vista as well as in the university.
A global citizen is one who recognizes himself/herself with being a part of the evolving world. The actions of a global citizen attempt to support to the establishment of global values and practices. Global citizen possess adequate awareness regarding the world and its inhabitants. In order to become a global citizen, one must identify the regional differences and accept various cultures. It is in this context that global citizens understand the interconnectivity of every individual and every place. Furthermore, developing trust and collaborative attitude with different people as representative of various cultures around the world is also regarded as an inherent constituent to help developing a global citizen (Global Kids Connect, “What is Global Citizenship?”).

The issues at hand were the idea of internal diversity of the liberal democracies. Another issue was globalization on the territorial states (Macedo 98). Citizenship is composed of three main elements; the first is the one where the citizen is protected by the law and his citizenship is a legal status.
An ideal state should always ensure that its citizens are free to express themselves and they should not be restrained. The United States of America experiences a crisis of citizenship in the sense that the American people feel disconnected from their nation or society that they do not wish to work for or do something great for it (Jeffrey et al, 2010).
They may be social, political, economic, or cultural benefits that create a relationship between a citizen and the state/ community. Faulks (2004, p.8) states that “Citizenship can be temporary or permanent in that temporary citizenship guarantees someone rights to live and work/study in a given state for a specified period and one is not entitled to some political and social/cultural privileges like voting and rights to receive certain protection from the state, whereas under permanent citizenship one is entitled to these privileges”.
Multiculturalism is essentially possible but necessary steps need to be taken in order for this to work beautifully. Society still has a long way to go with regard to this matter. For this to work, society should learn to acknowledge the existence of cultural minority groups in their locale.
The one holding these rights of membership is therefore considered to be a citizen of the entity. However the concept of citizenship implies that one has responsibilities and duties towards other members of the entity. Citizenship is different from nationality as nationality defined the legal status of belonging to a nation while citizenship on the other hand defined the political rights of an individual in a society.
Generally, the magnitude of having a citizenship is the entitlement to certain rights like the right to receive protection from the government, the right to vote, to run for public office, land ownership as well as utilization of natural resources, operation of public utilities, administer educational institution or manage mass media amongst others.
It is exhilarating because it offers opportunities to work with young people on 'real life' issues and topics. It is exigent because it calls for considerable span of knowledge, interests and fervour to approach teaching and learning in new and energetic way.
