What Causes Autism?”). Temple Grandin, a famous doctor and a professor, has been a sufferer from the disability of autism. In her life, she had to face struggle and strive extremely hard to establish herself in the society despite being hindered by autism. However, a notable exceptional aspect that happened in her life is that she met with a mentor who was able to recognize her abilities, likes and dislikes (Grandin 228). The mentor was able to act as a guiding light for her and provided motivation in order to facilitate her to tide over a number of difficulties in her life.

Thesis Statement The main objective of the paper is to describe autism and to explain in details the various ups and downs that were faced by Temple Grandin as she was afflicted with the disability. The paper also includes her achievements in spite of her being suffering from Autism. Moreover, it includes the key aspects of her life that made her successful as a doctor and a well renowned professor in Colorado State University of the United States of America. Review of Autobiography of Temple Grandin The symptom of autism differs from one person to another; the symptom might be severe to a particular individual or it may be mild towards another individual.

The basic problem that a person suffering from autism faces is that the individual cannot adjust himself to social gatherings. The individual can hardly keep an eye contact with the person he or she is having a conversation with. Autism occurs during the growing age of a human being; it affects the brain of a person in four major sections such as language, sensory systems, social skills and behavior. However, the basic cause behind autism remains a mystery (Grandin 42-43). The present-day context reveals that the disability might arise due to genetic disorder, environmental insults or it may combine both aspects.

Temple Grandin never portrayed autism in an immense way in order to get sympathy from others. In fact, she showed herself very strong so that she could face the society in a positive way. The problems that were identified by her mentor made a huge difference as she was able to develop her career as well as make people understand that she is a human being in some other way. There are other problems related to autism that occur due to loud noises, various kinds of smells and lights. These stimuli can be very much unwanted, shocking and surprising towards a person who is suffering from autism.

The normal activities that happen in our life are quite abnormal towards an individual who is suffering from autism. The effect of autism within an individual makes the person introvert; the person performs the tasks repetitively, develops the skills quite fast, the learning of the person is unpredictable and the person becomes very much obsessed with certain things (MediLexicon International Ltd., “What is Autism? What Causes Autism?”; The American Program Bureau, “Speaking To the World for Over 40 Years”; Grandin 55-77).

Temple Grandin is a sufferer of autism but she has given much of her time in learning her own condition, translating herself to the people who are suffering from autism, and also to the entire world. From the early age, she rectified herself so well that people at various conferences hardly used to understand that she herself was suffering from autism. This reveals that autism can be cured if the individual is rectifying himself or herself continuously. The disability can also be
