Legal Consciousness

This indicates that teaching is a sensitive career that demands one to maintain a legal conscious mind. As such, every teacher should be knowledgeable on the regulations and policies governing his/her activities to avoid unsuitable consequences. Therefore, this essay presents my experience on the Texas School of Law (TSL) and Education System, thus, presenting an informative piece that explains how teachers need to observe legal consciousness in their duties. The concept of push and/pull on my daily activities. The law pulls us by manipulating our mindsets; as such, it manages to shape our activities. Therefore, behaviors and codes that we observe are resultant of guidelines since the law attracts us into adopting them. The push appears as an obligatory application of the law because when persons fail to follow the law, then they are forced to follow it. As such, the law pushes or forces persons into adopting a desired habit, which shapes their activities. My reaction when confronted by problems that involve legal codes According to Myers (2004), most teachers suffer law consequences because they are mainly ignorant to new codes and regulations that are binding. Therefore, I would update myself frequently to avoid such situations. However, when confronted by challenges, my immediate response would entail evaluating the matter critically to identify my alternatives and the consequences of adopting any of the available option. As such, I would firstly seek to familiarize myself with the current events and novel regulations that affect my duties. I would then adopt an action most suited in correcting the situation and afterwards institute strategies that would avoid future recurrences. My reaction when confronted by problems while in my administration position. An apparent reality that an administrator must understand is that one can never cover problems, thus, facing them remains the viable solution. As such, I would seek to respond to arising problems coherently. Administrators monitor a group of individuals with diverse personalities, intentions and concerns making them face challenges emerging from varied sectors (Parkay & Stanford, 2007). This indicates that an administration post demands one to have a tactical mind that can respond to such predicaments effectively. I would always seek to gather the necessary information before communication my stand when faced by any problem. As such, research would be my guiding term since I never approve an idea of furnishing my client with compromised information. I rather acknowledge that I am not sure about the situation and seek for more time to carry out an investigation instead of adopting a position that I cannot defend. Additionally, as an administrator, I would always advocate for the options that would minimize the consequences of the presented cases by engaging amicable consensus. Implication of my role as a legal actor while in the position of administration. Any educational administrator is tightly bound by the activities of all teachers who fall under his jurisdiction. Darling-Hammond (2005) states that administrators must uphold and practice the law actively, hence, any administrator failing to observe such position can be accused of negligence. Indeed, an education administrator is liable to dangers that emerge due to his failure in delivering proper training, procedures and timely responses. While in an administration position, I would take my role as a legal actor seriously and handle legal concerns cautiously. As such, I would constantly advocate for strict adherence to the law and would never delay taking necessary corrective actions when need arises. This is of great essence since as Myers (2004) observes, failing to practice the ...Show more
