The surveys were carried out by the European Commission and the University of Nebraska respectively. The main aim of the adult education survey is to enhance adult education all over the world due to the competitive job market (Glaude, 2005). The European Commission found out that need to provide information to adults who want to participate in education is essential. The European Commission thought that, in a knowledgeable society, individuals need to update and complement their skills, competencies and knowledge throughout their lives. This is so as to maximize their individual development, as well as to uphold, and improve their position in the labor field. The main aim of the special education survey, on the other hand, was to study the views of special education administrators, as well as school psychologists, concerning the extent to which educators are aware of Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA).
