It will help in preparing their students to cope with the fast changing industry. Creative industry simply refers to all socio-economic potential activities trading with knowledge, creativity, and information. The sector has been one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. Creative sectors and governments across the globe increasingly recognize the importance of the industry as a generator of wealth, new job opportunities and source of cultural engagement. Creative industry is what propels the creative economy (Kelley, & Littman, 2001). The success that has been exhibited in the creative industry has been as a result of innovation and creative skills in art, culture, technology and business. Intellectual property is as a result of creativity, and it was developed with the unification of all activities that do trade with all the creative assets. Intellectual property is the framework where creativity is translated to economic value. The creative sector is based on the individual skill, creativity and talent that has the potential to create jobs and wealth through the development of intellectual property. The main sectors in the creative industry are the art and antique market, advertising, design, crafts, architecture, designer fashion, music, intellectual leisure software, software, publishing and radio and television. Creativity has become very popular in the sector and has had a wider societal impact on the world population. Creativity has been at the periphery of the interface between culture, economics, information and technology (Zachery, 2010). The interface has been expressed at the ability to circulate and create intellectual capital that has been creating jobs and generated income. It has also been promoting cultural diversity, social inclusion, and human development. It has thus used creativity to develop and expand the creativity industry which helped increase both the economic and social capital of the section of the population. Creative industry is a sector that is rapidly evolving, and it is experiencing a lot of changes. The evolution will need that the skills should also have to change quickly (Reiner, 2012). It is, therefore, imperative that the colleges need to factor this to allow creativity solve the challenges brought by the evolution. The support and training offered by the colleges should respond to the challenge with minimal bureaucracies to allow the development of the sector. In order for the sector to be able to access the skills and competencies, they require to be at par with the changes. Colleges must hence be able to instill the creative skills to their students to maintain their competitiveness in the sector. Technology and technology drive creative industry is a major resource in creativity. It is an innovative, driven sector. Innovation goes in hand with creativity. Colleges must impart the innovative culture into their students (Poehler, 2011). Creativity and innovation are important in the workforce, especially the students who want to have the freelance elements. The colleges should be able to invest in the creative and innovative skills as much as possible because it will help the students later in increasing their productivity and maintaining the prospects of their careers. The colleges in collaboration with the governments should invest in creative skills and support creativity industry business support needs. The investment will widen the creativity span which is a prerequisite for efficiency (Lehrer, 2012). Efficient industries are known to grow quickly and have been known to help those involved in it. The investment will also enhance the understanding and effectiveness of the students in their future careers in the creative industry. The government should create an appropriate body in the sector to help inform investment policies and decisions to the students in the colleges. It will help to maximize their economic outcomes in their future careers (Marot, 1918). It has been a success in the United Kingdom, which has propelled the United Kingdom to be a world leader in the sector. For a sector to grow rapidly, the market has to be efficient. For productivity to be maximized in the sector and for the market to work efficiently, there must be high quality creative information and intelligence on skills. It will thus require that creative employees must be available, and it is the role of the colleges to produce the creative employees. The colleges are ought to help employers and recruiters to reduce investment in recruitment and training, which can help the industry grow (Loveland, 2008). The prospective new entrants into to the industry are ought to have the creative knowledge that the industry requires to help them make decisions that will propel their careers. Investment in creativity will also help students to come with better ideas after the analysis of intelligence and data on investment talent and skills in other countries that will help spur growth in the parent country (Fitzgibbon, 2001). It creates a platform that helps in better benchmarking against other countries and help in the production of services that can compete well in the global market. Creativity will help students to understand the focus and the levels of investment that are required for maintenance of competitiveness and creation of a competitive edge in the global market. The government in place should come up with mechanisms of awarding accreditation and kite-marking of creative courses in the creativity industry. It will help colleges produce creative students that will allow employers to focus solely in directing business resources to the programs approved by the industry (Furniss, 2009). The providers of education like colleges should be incentivized to raise their quality by encompassing creativity and then engage with the industry to make sure that the graduates solve all the challenges facing the industry. The colleges should ensure that the courses offered for the creative industry should supply new entrants who are very creative, innovative and productive to help maintain the ongoing growth in the industry. Colleges are the channels that the industry has been using to get its employees. They are the ones that determine the kind of talent that the industry will get. Colleges can be better channels of providing progression routes to the industry if they invest in creativity (Cunningham, 2013). Creativity will aid in developing diversity among the workforce with the provision of clear roadmaps into the industry. The colleges are the bodies that determine the nature of new entrants and will thus help to ensure that those who are very creative determined and most talented can get into the industry.
