Introduction

In contrast, the sectors dealing with the construction of the commercial and industrial buildings are the only ones who have recognized the importance of the Design and Build Procurement Method, aimed towards the betterment of their projects. Hence, the second hypothesis was accepted, that the use of the Design and Build Procurement Method is confined only to the industrial and commercial buildings sector. The Design and Build Procurement Methods ensured better project performance in terms of reduction in the length of time devoted to the completion of the project, better value for money and better quality, among others. Members of the Irish Construction Industry, whether or not they are dealing with big or small projects, may consider shifting towards the use of the Design and Build Procurement Method considering that the latter positively affects project performance.
