Task 1 1. Describe the power system. The power system of choice which best suits this project is “Hybrid Power System”. This system employs combination of Off grid renewable energy technologies among which we are going to use a combination of Solar, Wind, Hydropower and for an emergency back up a gasoline/diesel generator is also provided…

Introduction

On a macro scale the Hybird system work in three phases, production, Power electronics and Consumption. The production is done by the Renewable Energy system, stored by batteries and in case of backup by generator. Then the Power Electronics regulates the supply and transmission of the power to the appliances where the load is required. This figure below shows working of a Hybrid System. To meet the base demand of 100KVa at a power factor of 1, thus energy requirement of 100KW we will include a system setup which will include three complete 20 kW solar panels. The photovoltaic systems that are available in the market are of 20kW, 50 kW and 100 kW and thus it has been concluded that three 20 KW panels are used. In case of failure of one, the system does not collapse completely. The picture and detail configuration of similar system with reference is given in the Appendix 1. The next component in the Hybrid system’s energy input is the wind turbines. ...

Exports at present are over 200,000 million SAR and over 90% of these are oil exports, which account for 75% of government revenue. The rapid growth is therefore mainly due to increases in the kingdom’s oil revenues. …
Sustainable Construction Method
The construction process and building use not only consume the most energy of all sectors and create the most CO2 emissions, they also create the most waste, use most non-energy related resources, and are responsible for the most pollution. Materials such as copper, which is largely mined in South America where whole mountains have been taken down and landscapes altered in the search for ever more…
EMERGENT TECHNOLOGIES IN COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION
Oil depletion makes oil extraction more difficult and expensive, which has forced many countries to search for alternative fuel sources and energy conservation strategies (US Energy Information Administration, 2009). Due to these threats, sustainability planning has become the primary agenda for the states who are facing an energy crisis and environmental problems caused by destructive human…
Wast Management in Construction and Demolition
C&D waste would typically include most construction materials, such as concrete, wood, metals, gypsum wallboard, asphalt, and roofing materials; some have the opinion, however, that land-clearing debris that includes soil, tree stumps, and rocks should be included among C&D waste. Some would not consider these waste as they are materials that naturally occur in such form in nature, and are merely…

There is therefore a need for numerous skills and techniques to be put…
Power Quality in Electrical Power System
Hence the load that develops is one of the most prominent reasons as well as the most important victim of power quality related issues. Since they are non-linear in nature this causes great load which results in turbulence in the waveform of the voltage.  “Component can be established. It is possible in the same way to correlate certain disturbances with consumption patterns of electricity,…
Distributed Power System Network with Renewable Sources
In the past years, the increase in the petroleum prices, coupled with tendency of fossil fuel reserves and their dangerous effects that cannot be avoided and the lack of political stability in the sources of energy regions have led to the renewable energy systems study (Air-X, 2008). In this case, electrical energy is outputted by the systems of renewable energy systems like fuel cells and…
