electromagnetic induction

Introduction Electromagnetic induction involves the electric current produced across a conductor that moves in a magnetic field. It is the basic operation for transformers, generators, electric motors, induction motors, solenoids, and synchronous motors. Electromagnetic induction is the process, which gives a prediction of the behaviour of the interaction between electric current and the magnetic field. Michael Faraday discovered the concept of induction in the year 1831. He stated that the produced electromotive force (emf) around a path that is closed is directly proportional to the magnetic flux rate of change through a surface that is path bounded. This implies that, there would be some induced electric current in a closed circuit whenever the flux going through a conductor bounded surface changes. This means that the conductor will be moving through it, or the field would be experiencing a change in its strength. Theory In Faraday’s initial demonstration of electromagnetic induction, two wires were wrapped around opposite sides of a ring of iron. According to his assessment, of the electromagnetic properties, he knew that whenever the currents began to flow in the first wire, a wave would move in the ring leading to an electrical effect on the side that was opposite. ...

Wind power for water desalination including a comparison with solar power desalination
Sew water desalination through the renewable energy resources can solve the problem. Wind energy has the most potential in the coastal regions of the world due to high availability of wind. Wind desalination utilized the RO, MVC and ED techniques to desalinate the sea water. RO method of desalination is considered the most efficient method of desalination. Wind desalination has many advantages over solar desalination, particularly at coastal regions. The advanced wind turbines have more efficiencies than that of the previous designs. On the other hand the desalination methods involving…

surface engineering technology used in industry for surface modification( i.e surface treatment-surface thermo-chemical tratment
This has been made feasible because steel is strong, flexible, and durable, thus, making it a suitable material for construction. However, there are instances where some modifications have to be made to the metal to make it suitable for some types of construction. The resolve to have steel that is strong, tough, wear, and shock resistant leads engineers to manipulate the surface of the metal, leaving its inner core intact (Davis, 2003). This process is called surface hardening of steel, and it can be done in many ways. Surface hardening techniques can be grouped into two main categories; local…

Moreover, when testing the polarity of a transfomer using a small DC voltage, amplification of the volatge indicated a positve polarity and reduction a negative one. The experiment was thus succesful in testing the two laws above. Practical: Electromagnetic Induction In magentic induction, the induced elctromotive force or emf in a closed circuit would be equivalent to the time rate of the magetive flux passing through the circuit. Electromitive force, emf is the engery gained per unit charge that passes through an elctric conductor such as a generator. Emf in any circuit is measured in Volts,…

The other terminal of the secondary transformer provides the negative. The load is cut across by the resistor. Figure 2 Voltage and current waveform of a half-wave rectifier Voltage relationship The half-wave rectifier states that the load voltage vL is Vdc and expressed in the following diagram. The load voltage is equal to 0 and the angular frequency of the source is w = 2? = T. This is expressed in the following diagram. From the diagram above, we can get the half-wave: Half-wave Vdc = Vm = 0.318Vm ? I.2 Full-wave rectification The full-wave rectification can be produced in two types: the…

The wireless power enables the electrical energy to be transmitted from the source of power to an electrical load. The system operates without connecting wires. The system is important because it is used in places where interconnecting wires are impossible, inconvenient, or hazardous. A mobile Phone Battery wireless charger is a system that charges mobile phone battery using a wireless charger. The idea behind wireless charging is to plop the device on the shelf and have it charged. The technology replaces cable wiring and standardize on a single interface. Additionally, the interface will be…

This paper examines the magnetic field separated by a superconductor material. Magneto static or dipole-dipole forces are very critical in determining the microstructure of any magnet. Magnetic fields in magneto statics which are constant at a particular moment in time always produces steady currents. The charge passing in a wire at per unit time is called the current of that particular wire. Conventionally, it is assumed that electric current always flow in the direction of the movement of the positive charges. …
