This paper Technical choice of dam materials and their environmental impacts seeks to unveil key issues on matters pertaining the link between, drilling fluid and oil recovery in homogenous reservoirs. It seeks to suggest better ways of utilizing the current drilling fluids in the recovery of oil, as well as future methods that are better suited in the exploration of oil. The Influence of drilling fluid on oil recovery literature contains results of many research projects that were contacted over a period of time. It is evident that the total number of such publications is quite overwhelming, although this does not mean that all the pertinent publication were reviewed, though none of those that were applicable and useful to this work were excluded intentionally. Difficulties that were encountered in review of literature are an attempt to develop the relationship between the two parameters. Initially there has been an attempt to quantify the existing relationship between the use of drilling fluid and the oil recovery in homogenous reservoirs. Most of these studies were centered on issues that are related with the offshore drilling operations rather than how drilling fluid influences oil recovery on the homogenous reservoirs. In this study it is expected that the results indicate that there is a positive correlation between drilling fluid use and oil recovery in homogenous rocks. Earlier works by Bobik, and Deneki, concluded that the use of drilling fluid increases the recovery of oil in homogenous reservoirs. ...

The Change from One Material to Another in Aircraft Development The method for the choice of materials for aircraft development has changed over the years. For the Flyer, the Wright brothers utilized the first cast aluminium engine block and the major drivers for the material chosen were static strength and weight. The materials used on the main airframe were wood covered with a fabric. Wood is a…

Crevice Corrosion Corrosion occurring within or adjacent to crevices, which are commonly left at joints, due to small volumes of stagnant corroding fluids is known as crevice corrosion. The most important feature of this type of corrosion is the contact with stagnant solution which takes place in interstices, near seals and in cervices made for nuts and rivet heads. The metals and alloys used in…

According to a survey that was carried out by our firm, we realized that many instances windows were severely damaged. Upon keenly studying the damages, it was realized that it was partly due to environmental factors and partly due to poor maintenance. The damages on the widows caused variations in geometric configuration, composition, porosity and adherence of corrosion products. They also cause…

The choice of this site for the dam was determined by the amount of water that was necessary to impound to make Egypt independent of the annual flood. The old dam had carried the yearly control of the Nile to its limit without altering the country’s dependence on flood and the only way to advance past its position, to ensure independence of the river’s vagaries, was to impound enough water for…
