Analysis of Tombstone Tombstone Analysis The movie ‘Tombstone’ is on of the many to be cast in the 20th century. The film features several scenes some of which are filthy and vulgar. This occurs through nudity of the women in the brothel, and fornication behaviors. Moreover, violent scenes are vital in the movie. This is seen as people are gunned down, death, and shot at open range. The film is cast in the form of a story. The film mainly focus on Wyatt Earp and the events that took place after the (Movie Guide, n.d.).

This took place at the O.K. Corall in Arizona on October 26, 1881 (Movie Guide, n.d.). The film is characterized by a mediocre plot, bloody violence, and uneven cinematography. Analysis of the movie ‘Tombstone’ is of the essence in understanding plot, setting, directors, and cinematography. The analysis of the movie helps in gaining understanding of various aspects. The film is directed by George Cosmatos. The movie was cast in Hollywood and Cinergi pictures. Moreover, the movie is comprised of various characters.

However, there are main characters that contribute to the plot of the story significantly. They include Kurt Russel, Van Kilmer, Michael Biehn, Powers Boothe, Dana Delany, Sam Elliot, Stephen Lang, Joanna Pacula, Bill Paxton, Bill Paxton, Jason Priestly, Michael Rooker, John Tenney, Doc Holliday, and Billy Zane (Movie Guide, n.d). In addition, the movie was made in 1993. This movie runs for 130 minutes. The movie is rated 7.7 out of ten points. The movie has an extensive plot. The movie begins with the retirement of Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) from law enforcement agency.

Therefore, he engages in a journey and is accompanied by his brothers Virgil (Sam Elliot) and Morgan Bill Paxton (Holden, 2013). Then, they arrive in Tombstone, Arizona where they want to settle. In this town, Russell meets his longtime friend Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer). He also discovers that an outlawed group known as the Cowboys controls the city. Moreover, his wife for taking excessive alcohol annoys Russell. As a result, he develops a relationship with travelling stage actor Josephine Marcus (Dana Delany) (Holden, 2013).

In the meantime, he realizes that Cowboys were terrorizing the town unabated. After this, a cowboy kills the town marshal and Russell steps in to prevent more crime in the scene (Holden, 2013). Therefore, he refuses to give the perpetrator of the crime to the residents. This prompted a hostility to occur between the cowboys and Russell brothers. On the other hand, the inaction of Vigil forced him to accept the position of town marshal due to guilt he felt. Moreover, Wyatt and Morgan acted as his deputies with the assistance of Doc.

The attempts by the marshal to take into custody several cowboys resulted to the famed Corral shoot-out (Holden, 2013). This prompted revenge by the cowboys. They eventually killed two of the brother, Morgan, and injuring Virgil (Holden, 2013). This forced the Earp family to leave town out of fear. After a moment, Wyatt returns to clear the city of the Cowboy menace with clear identity of a court marshal. He ruthlessly killed them and this ended with a duel with the group leader Johnny Ringo (Holden, 2013).

Moreover, the director relies on the music in the film to bring out a dramatic effect. Moreover, evaluation of the film highlights different things. One of such things is the quality of acting. The movie quality of acting is excellent. This is seen through the strong performance depicted by small and leading roles of the characters. The cinematography of the movie relies on dramatization of the events (Holden, 2013). Music of the movie is of sound quality and makes the audience follow all the events in the movie with enthusiasm.

On the other hand, the movie is set based on different things. One of the themes is violence. This is seen as the Cowboy terrorizes the dwellers of the city. This is also seen through killing of Morgan, Wyatt brother, and at the end of the story as the gang leader is killed. The other crucial theme is passion and love. This is seen using profane language in the movie, nudity of some women, and Russell love affair with the actor. The movie offers all the admirable qualities that are the expectation of the viewers.

This is because of its melodramatic, instrumental diverse, and a theme that is worthy being followed by the viewer (Film Tracts, 2010). Moreover, the good quality of the movie is seen based on its wide suitability to different age of the viewer. In conclusion, the movie offers a quality experience to the viewer. This is due to its excellence in reinforcing its thematic content. This is also enhanced by use of suspense and dramatization of the major events in the story. Moreover, the combination of cinematography and music helps in capturing viewer’s attention throughout the plot.
