10. The play demonstrates that Richard is an evil person. His speech displays a calculated hypocrisy which he uses to manipulate matters behind the scenes. These tactics are similar to the way some politicians manipulate the electorate in achieving their personal interests.
1. Clarence dreams he is sailing to France together with his brother Richard who stumbles on the deck of the ship but when Clarence tries to save him, Richard pushes Clarence into the ocean. As he is drowning he sees treasures buried in the sea and the ghost of Prince in the underworld who tries to drag him to hell.
