The revelation affects Exham Priory psychologically. It is without a doubt if I say that the protagonist in this story also becomes the monster when he attacks his friend Capt. Norrys in a dark ally and he feeds on him. This story does not have a resolution because. He got locked up in a mental institution, no one ever gets to know the truth, and he still believes there are rats in his walls the mystery remained unsolved (Dawidowicz 20).

Confession by Algernon Blackwood tells the story of O’Reilly who is also the protagonist of the story. He is mentally disturbed, and on a given day, his psychologist Dr. Henry sends him on an errand. He keeps seeing images that he cannot determine whether they are real or unreal. The story climaxes when he meets a beautiful woman with who he has a connection with and he decides to her follow her into her house only to find her dead (Dawidowicz 43).  It later turns out that the young woman had an affair with the wife, who became murdered. O’Reilly experiences personal conflict, which became resolved, at the end of the story when the doctor reveals everything to him.

Catfish Girl Blues by Nancy .A. Collins is a masterpiece but weirdly created the story that focuses on Mermaids in Mississippi. All the above stories fit appropriately in the category of Monster and Maniacs. In the story rats in the walls, the rising action begins when the heir of Delapore discovers the underground city in his estate, which turns him into a monster, and he does not even realize it (Dawidowicz 55). This also applies in the confession where O’Reilly confesses to killing his wife without realizing it too. All three stories involve psychological changes that the protagonists experience within.
