ID Lecturer Short Story about a Boy who dropped out of High School in his Sophomore Year Ralph was a young boy who dropped out of High School in his sophomore year and ever since his journey has been filled with immense difficulties. He has not been able to cope with the life’s different nuances as these have haunted him in a number of ways. Since Ralph belongs to a middle-lower class family, it was always very cumbersome on his part to make both ends meet. Add to that, his dropping out meant that whatever was invested within his study domains were actually put to waste.

The theme of his life was such that Ralph had to undergo strenuous routines once he dropped out of High School. He ran from pillar to post to find a decent job for his own self but since he did not have a High School diploma under his belt, this process was always going to be tough. Nearly each and every employer asked him about his High School diploma which essentially meant that he lost out on gaining the job. He succumbed to pressure from different sides, and this made him feel bad about his own self.

His uncle, Jacobs was of help to him but he could only guide him as such. The main tonic was needed on the part of Ralph himself. Jacobs was therefore a character within this story that eventually shaped up his life. Jacobs told him to seek a High School diploma before it was too late. Ralph knew this was a much needed entity; he just could not muster enough strength to do it, more so because he dropped out of school and did not wish to be a part of the same clan again. The setting of Ralph ultimately had a great amount of say within the making up of his domains.

He felt that he was made to pay for the harsh realities of life that had come his way. Jacobs told him that this was not the case and that he must stop being sorry about his own self, to which Ralph paid little heed. Time moved on and Ralph got rejected at other interviews in much the same way. Nothing seemed to change for him and the matters got worse with each passing day. This was just too much for an individual like Ralph who was too sensitive to take all this undue pressure. It was with the assistance of Fred, another character that was a part of his story.

Fred was a distant relative of Ralph who had come to his rescue from nowhere. Fred genuinely wanted to help Ralph because he knew of Ralph’s issues and problems. He offered him a middle tier job in his own office to which Ralph gladly obliged. Things started to get better for Ralph who understood now that a High School diploma would have given him understanding and knowledge that was needed in his job. Fred taught him the very basics of the job but it was the lack of the High School diploma that remained a problem for Ralph all along.

Now he needs to counter the same to move ahead. The elements of the plot include the downfall of Ralph as an individual and the assistance provided to him by his uncle Jacobs and relative Fred. Since Ralph has to decide his own course of action, it is up to the society to shape up his actions in a number of different ways. This has been manifested by the favor that his relative Fred gave to him and the help that he received from Jacobs is also something noteworthy that shall be comprehended properly.

The plot is designed in such a way that it shall bring together different facets of Ralph’s personality. It is imperative that Ralph is assisted by the people that are close to him and who mean a great amount of significance as far as his life realms are concerned. Hence it is pertinent to note that Ralph’s life has to move on no matter how hard it is to make both ends meet. It is his High School diploma which poses as a serious problem and which shall be looked at with careful consideration on his part.

Since Ralph has understood where he has gone wrong, making amends is all the more significant, and this has partly been done by him. Now since he has gained the job in Fred’s office, this is his time to make sure that he becomes a successful person through his experience at work and his interpersonal skills.
