From what I have read about India in the books and seen in the media, I have come to know that it is a land that unites people belonging to different subcultures. I particularly have a great taste for the Indian cinema. Although I don’t understand Hindi or Urdu languages, yet they sound very sweet to the ears. The Indian cinematography is one of its kind. I love the heavily beaded dresses, their taste for heavy jewelry and makeup, and most importantly their respect for their roles and responsibilities as members of a family.

One thing that I could never understand about the Indian culture was how the Indians manage to live in a joint family system. Despite all the generational differences and gaps, they spend all their life together. This is something truly remarkable and worth-observing from a closer view, which is one of the main reasons I want to go to India.
