English-Value Claim Occupy Wall Street is a moral movement. The organization is unsanctioned existing online resource for the occupation movements that is happening in the Wall Street and the world. It fights back against the corrosive powers that have been created by multinational corporations and major banks over the democratic process and the responsibility of Wall Street in the generation of an economic collapse that has led to ultimate recessions in generations. Moral is used to refer to just or right in behavior. It arises from a sense or conscious of right and wrong. When we claim that Occupy Wall Street is moral movement we are trying to argue based on the rightfulness or principles or rules that the movement does which are based on ideologies of right conduct in the society. Whatever the movement is passionate about must be a great deal that is affecting the economy of the societies. Money has been a huge driving force behind all policy makings and watching the entire economy collapse is devastating, we should be rewarded for our hard work and shun corruption, oppression of equality, self over justice and greed overwhelm our corporations. Body The word moral has been used in the Oxford Dictionary to refer to principles that concern right or acceptable behaviors that are accepted in a particular society. It entails manifesting or holding high principles for appropriate conduct. Morally acceptable behaviors are those accepted in the society. The word is to be used to refer to claims that I personally approve of. When the act does not seem to affect the society and is meant for the well-being of everybody, then it is moral. I do not intend to make you think otherwise of situations that you find right to me and wrong to you as justified to be morals, but whatever you find right is moral. For instance when I claim that government tax is moral, then it means I personally approve the imposition of government tax to everybody. For a Christian to claim murder as immoral then he/she is bringing in personal approval that according to the ethics of Christianity it is against the will of God to commit such acts. I believe to be moral will then not mean one is being destructive or not being responsible. It will depend on the baggage attached to the moral expressions in your society. It will matter when one is punished or awarded for being good or bad, it is also interrelated to religious practices and indoctrination. Alonzo Fyfe concedes that there are no clear definitions of the term moral, so in attempt to define the word he presupposes that the term is best defined descriptively. He states that morality will mean reasons for certain reasons for action, and that certain reasons make an action to be right or wrong. He concludes that morality is concerned with desires; it will contain condemnation, punishment, praise or reward (Fyfe). A document titled Phil for Humanity by Phil B. describes morality as the codes of ethical behavior deemed by culture, society, education, family, and religion. He claims that it is so because peoples are raised differently and because that will have diverse experiences. Every person will have a unique definition of morality depending on the backgrounds. According to G.E. Moore, morality corresponds to whatever is actually being done in the community. It involves the consequence of behavior beliefs that is right or wrong. Most definitions of morals derive their arguments from ethics of the society, religion, and religion that one comes from. The statement that Occupy Wall Street is a moral movement will base our arguments on the relevance of the behaviors and outcomes that is associated with the movement to the community, and if they are of any help to the society in general. First, it is important to remind ourselves that the aim of the movement is to protect the economy of the country by protesting over corporations that do not seek the consent of the people but mind their own by extracting wealth from others. This is unacceptable, for that reason they assemble peacefully so as to let the truth be known (Moore). A research on the idea of morality has a set of different perceptions on various individuals, an interview conducted on a set of people showed the difference, Joyce Bulfor one of the interviewee said that morals are based on human conduct that will determine whether something is right and fitting, she stated that morality will one way or the other guides a person’s actions and choices. The actions will on another hand be based on strict adherence on codes that determine the right or wrong behavior depending on the community. According to her it is a matter of choice for someone for someone to Occupy Wall Street will depend on whether he/she finds the reason for doing so worthwhile or not. However, whatever one will do at the street will now determine the relevance of the actions; a peaceful demonstration is accepted. Her view was based on an argument that those who Occupy Wall Street make the choice when they find their actions rational, and by choice they find it to have value in their life (Bulfor). Several claims have been made of banks that take houses from citizens illegally, regardless of them not having original mortgage. Bailouts have frequently been taken from taxpayers with impunity, they have continued to giving the executives exorbitant bonuses. How about perpetuated inequality and discrimination that we have witnessed at our work places based on sex, age, color of the skin, and sexual orientations? The food supply has been poisoned through negligence, and farm systems have been undermined through monopolizations. Severally we have noticed cases of employees negotiating for better pay or improved working conditions striped of their duties. The society has suffered many times and their claims and grievances not taken into considerations. This is one of the reasons Occupy Wall Street decided to occupy the Wall Street. The movement does what tens of millions of people have wished that they could do. It is in nobody’s wish that they could be losing their country to people of self-interest. This is against the societies wish. For this reason Wall Street has won support from majority of the public (Moore). A big bank foreclosure is a thorn in the flesh of a majority of the citizens. The movement seeks to help us occupy our own banks, occupy our College Board trustees, and what we feel belongs to the public. Long time it needed one to teach the public of what was rightfully theirs before going to the street. Actually, the movement is seeking to move the country to a nonsexist, nonracist, peace seeking, and non-homophobic place. No one has to be convinced of the exorbitant exploitation that they are experiencing. We don’t have to lose a relative because they lack health insurance, lose homes to banks, or students getting crushed by depts. We realize the grievances of the society and a clear review of morality will involve the society and what they consider approve to be wrong or not done to their expectations. The society feels that some organizations are taking a diverse path from theirs. They are left with no choice but to occupy the wall streets of the nation (Craigh). However, there are some views have been placed by some individuals who view the movements are irrelevant and waste of time. Some people have claimed that the movement is frequently used by politicians who want to distract the nation against moving towards the right direction. Parents have also raised alerts of their children who leave colleges to join Wall Street as time wasting and seeking relevance to their lives the wrong way. The problems does not really exist in the street as it will involve the less concerned, the movement should hence be directed to the main offices. The idea is good because it seeks to solve the problems that the people are facing, but who are to blame? Do we blame the Wall Street? Actually we should realize the mind set of people, some might say- if it doesn’t affect me why should I bother? Trust me a good percentage stare at the windows saying tax payers didn’t give their more to Wall Street. The individual approval to go to the street lacks in this people, they do not realize the importance of it. To some the act is immoral because it affects their business operations. They find it uncouth to be in the street yet the problems should be presented in the offices. Conclusion The occupation Wall Street movements should be allowed to continue without interruptions. The movement averts exploitations of different kinds; it is never veracious to have what is not rightfully yours. This is against the societies codes. We should exercise our right to have peaceful assemblies, generate process to address whatever problem we are facing, and create possible solutions to everyone.
