These patterns are acquired by people in their early years only to be established and refined more and more over the passing years. Close family members, friends, teachers at school, and the local community also collectively play a big role in establishing these different speech patterns for us. That is why socialisation is considered so important and emphasized so often at schools as socially less vibrant people are generally not much acquainted with different language styles due to which they cannot relate to different people in different types of settings.
