Nature bestows mankind with its beauty and bounty and unwinding resource of flora and fauna which appease and quench the needs of man. However, far from the relationship of necessity related with mankind, nature is some aesthetic purview which definitely holds an important aspect in a man’s life. Every human mind is related with nature at a certain plane. And not a single person can ignore its mighty existence and unending influence on the mind and life of a man. Some people are attracted to mighty snow–capped mountains, some to green vales. Some minds get lost in the mystery of the woods and some lose their heart at the roaring waves of an ocean which crushes at the beach and to touch their feet. The beauty of a golden beach lying as a stretch on the bank of a sea or an ocean is always attractive for most of the people. It does not captivate the obscurity of woods and hardship of mountains. For a perfect destination to relax, rejuvenate and feel the mirth and warmth of life, beach is the best resort. It does not involve any physical hardship to stay or reach a beach. And the beauty of a beach is always more exploring with the progress in the hour clock. The color scheme of the stretch of land changes with the changing season. This glorifies the aura of the beach attracting millions of tourist across the world every year. Thesis Statement This essay intends to analyze and explore the reasons why a human mind seeks attraction to a beach and tries to describe the beauty and blessings of nature bestowed upon this physical feature on earth. Beauty of a Beach To many people it might seem at the outset that a stretch of land covered with sand and rock cannot seem actually beautiful. However, to many others who have been attracted, enchanted and mesmerized with the glory, charm and enigma of a beach know that what fascinates them towards the stretch of land in reality. The golden sand dunes and the rocky cliffs situated at the shore of a vast water-body yielding magnificent and gigantic waves is a sight to watch from a considerable distance. The gigantic waves roar like thunder and then crush and efface on the banks. It seems that their mighty existence somewhere fall short, minor and tiny in front of the golden stretch of land (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, “When Sand Dunes Have Been Destroyed”). The beach that is rocky or has cliffs is just another beautiful spectacle of nature. The waves evolving from the middle of the ocean, takes a magnificent aura before crushing down to the rocks and cliffs on the beach. It seems that those cliffs are the ring master of a circus taming a lion, making it ready for the show. The beast may roar, deny, show its magnanimity but before the rock-solid existence of the ring master and his agile hunter, the beast is ought to succumb and break down. The same spectacle evolves before the eyes of a person who stands at the rocky beach and watches the waves crushing down before the Rocky Mountains situated at the beach. The crushing of the waves produces beautiful foam which seems like some cluster of stray clouds on a blue sky. The poetic mind which operates above the mundane scientific theories of daily life perceives it as a reflection of the phenomena taking place up in the sky (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, “When Sand Dunes Have Been Destroyed”). Sunrise and sunset both occur with vivacity and grandeur at the beach. Sun and the sand play all through the day changing mood and color with the passing season. With its first ray the sun turns the beach into a casket of red light. The air gets warm slowly and the waves dance with the rays of the sun touching the golden red sand at the beach. The panorama is spectacular. It will always take a great intensity and passion to narrate a sunrise at the beach. The red ball of light above the white waves upon a blue ocean which turns slight gray at the first hour of the dawn is a beautiful mix of color found in nature around us. Each color of these phenomena is wonderful. And there is hardly any person on earth who will not love to watch this grand show of nature. Sunset occurs with the similar aura and spectacle at the beach as well. A person spending an entire day at the beach knows it well that there is a repetition of the event at the last hour of the day as well. At the dusk when the sun sets over the mighty sea, the waves turn slate grey in color. With the receding sun, the sand turns golden red once again but there is a tone of departure in the redness. It’s always very strange but still a mind entwined with the nature can feel the difference of the redness during the sunrise and sunset at the beach. With the rising sun, the glory and the might of the red sun engulfing the golden dunes gives an appeal that the beach is embracing a day, greeting it with the first ray of light. The mighty embrace seems like a peeping into the eyes of the sun to greet the morning glory. The opposite feeling evolves at the dusk on a beach. During that time, it seems the beach is a lonely person, an aged man whose hair has turned white with the passing of time and the burden of the life has made him wise and experienced but he bids all the glory, might and valor with the setting of the sun during the closing hours of the day. The rays of the sun miss warmth of a greeting day and the feeble light of the sun at the closing quarters of the day make it cold and fading. Mirth and Glory: Soaked in the Sun As the day proceeds, the beach gets filled with the activities of different people belonging to different age groups and social strata. The palm avenues hedging the beach area become resting shades for many people who want to get tanned and soak themselves in sun for the rest of the day. Children, men and women involve in myriad water sports and beach sports all through the day. Beach volley amid all of these games is the most popular. During the day the hustle and bustle at the beach makes it colorful and full of life. Many shacks and vendors with lemonades, tropical fruits and drinks make the beach a fun-filled fanfare ground full of life and love. People meet each other, greet and there is a warm smile at every face, which reflects the warmth of the place. This does not mean at all that if one tries to seek solace at beach one would not find a perfect place for it. There are so many beautiful lonely and virgin beaches where the silence of the entire world gets entrapped. The blue sky, the blue ocean and the sound of an aquatic bird with the background music of eternal roaring waves makes a perfect heavenly abode for an unsettled mind seeking solace. Refinement and Serenity: Drenched in the Moon At mountains and woods, generally one has to captivate himself inside the room after the sunset. However, at beach there is a life which initiates with more vivacity at the onset of the evening. Beach parties, dances and lights with high sound of music make the area activity prone. And when one goes away from the merry-making space of the beach, one can witness a wonderful play of moonlight and sand which makes it look like a ground covered with salt or at times even gives a feel of a snow. The whiteness and the silvery shine which the light of the moon produces render a beautiful ivory tinge to the entire atmosphere. This effect is produced by the matching of the white light of the moon, with the waves and the sand drenched with moonlit. Flora and Fauna at the Beach: A Different Spectacle With the avenues of palm or a series of coconut trees grown at a row on a beach adds a different spectacle to the beauty of a beach. On a moonlit night the moon peeks through the leaves of a coconut or a palm tree which is at times a sight to watch. White cranes or any unknown migratory birds which loiter in and around the beach add an exotic charm to it. Tortoise, crabs and other sea animals like seal and walrus often come to add glory to the beaconed beauty of beaches. It would be quite injustice if these minute elements at a beach is neglected or not considered into the synchronized panorama of a beach. These are like individual notes to a symphony without which the melody remains incomplete. The discrete vegetation at the beach is a different sort of beauty which retains and reflects its own existence through its bizarre yet beautiful presence. Conclusion Nature captivates its beauty and bounty with full force which can be perceived in every tiny or big particle around us. Yet, there are places which capture the enormity, vivacity and vitality of nature. A beach is undoubtedly such a physical feature on earth which yields peace of mind and reflects the mirth and warmth of life. It repeatedly reminds one that life does not cease, it moves on. With a high spirit and joy, the life at beach generates unending and never quenching lust for life and its vitality. Its diversity is enormous and with the window open for the panorama of life, if one wants to feel the solace and peace of mind, still one can seek refuge at a beach where a lonely heart can gaze at the ever rolling waves and the world seems compressed into the horizon for him. A beach is a metaphor for life. It comprises sound and light, silence and shouts, peace and mirth. It is a complete extension of human trajectory, a microcosm of human life painted in the canvas of nature at other dimension.
