The description of their authorship is given in addition to the authors’ point of view, argument and the basis of their content. The annotated bibliography of the ten information sources is provided below. Adelman, Stanley. "Supreme Court Bans Death Penalty for Under-18 Offenders." Corrections Today, 2005, 67.5, 58-61. The author who is a law professor presents the approach of the Supreme Court in determining the implications of juvenile death penalty and the role played by the societal norms in determining the course of legal action against juvenile defendants.

The author demonstrates a wide scope of the issue with a historical approach. In the article it is illustrated that the law has been amended to cater for the sentiments of the society on the issue of giving children a capital punishment. The developments within the legal frameworks which surround capital punishment are analyzed at length by the author with a view of establishing the justification for juvenile death penalty. The author cites the various cases of the Supreme Court that are related to juvenile capital punishment to lay a basis for his argument.

There is no support for the capital punishment as there is a review of the implications of juvenile death penalty. Beverlin, Matt. . The paper is motivated by the void in literature on juvenile death sentencing. The findings of the study are critically presented in the paper illustrating that there is a less significant criminal deterrence of juvenile crime. Being based on the criminal deterrence theory, the author demonstrates in the paper the societal factors which would be attributed by the violence and crime rates among juveniles.

The importance of the presented information is emphasized by the fact that it adds knowledge on the literature on death penalty particularly that which is directed at juveniles. Deterrence as one of the motivation of death penalty sentencing is discussed as not effective in punishing children. Butler, Brooke. "The Role of Death Qualification in Capital Trials Involving Juvenile Defendants." Journal of Applied Social Psychology, 2007, 37.3, 549-560 Brooke gives a psychological point of view of the effectiveness of the punishment of juveniles through the death penalty.

The information discussed is a presentation of a study on the qualification of juvenile offenders for the death penalty. The results of the study are presented logically by the authors who illustrates that juvenile defendants would be convicted to capital punishment regardless of their age. The crucial part of the paper is the deep analysis and discussion of the implications of these findings on the legal system. The reliability of the data and information which is discussed is demonstrated by the fact that it is based on research findings.

The research thus creates a dilemma that would elicit debate on the current legal framework which puts questions on the constitutionality of capital punishment
