Funding for NASA Exploration Funding for NASA Exploration Ever since life has begun on the planet, few necessities for existence have been agreed upon by everyone, namely, clothing, shelter and food. It would not be wrong to state that education also suffices as one of these basic necessities. I believe space exploration has never been one of them. A reasonable argument can be that diminishing presence of any of these necessities should have the most priority of being fulfilled for everyone before other tasks and aspects of life are spent upon.

CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll conducted a survey in 2010 regarding the general consent of the masses about the degree of their tax money being spent for NASA exploration missions. The results revealed that 50% of the participants of the survey wanted the money to be used somewhere else. Better use of the resources and money would be to spend it on the strengthening of the economy, improving the education sector and providing better health care systems in countries. However, absolute cease on exploration missions would not be wise as well, since such missions also highlight the possibility of celestial events like meteor showers, meteorite explosions etc.

Such information is also important for the well being of life on the planet. Therefore, a reasonable strategy demands the decrement of funds for NASA exploration to such a degree that only vital missions are carried out. The extent of necessity of missions should be decided by a government entity constituting of representatives from NASA as well as the government.
