Precis Reality TV is very unreal and highly commercialized. Every feature of the concert is intentionally incorporated to market some commodity, product, or service. Onscreen version offers a better experience than live. Journal While I agree to (Brownstein) that the show is all highly commercialized and nothing looks very real, I think that she has overlooked the spirit of a live experience. People mostly go to live shows out of their love for and desperation to see and possibly meet the celebrities, and to have a collective experience participating with the performers (Fine).

“Its not like an orchestra concert where you sit and listen and absorb the music. Youre singing along and dancing” (Davis cited in Maney). Some people also go to live concerts out of their curiosity to witness and capture any awkward, strange, or embarrassing moments in person because if there would be some, they are sure to be edited out of the televised version.
