The reality in rumor and its effect in the coming future Rumor is information that spreads around about something, it may be true or sometimes it may not be true, it depends mostly with where the information came from. Some rumor is spread around just to spoil someone’s reputation and some rumor may be talking of something that may come to happen in future. All this depend based on truth found in the information spreading around. This paper is going to discuss more about the rumor that are spread around about the expectation that the world is waiting to see in future. With the rise of technology and the great changes taking place generation after generation, there are a lot rumors spreading about the coming future. Many say that, land will be limited, others say that life will be very competitive than what is happening now but all that is rumor but based on some truth that is seen around. In the year, 1920s there was a hot rumor that spread around about alligators but it did not take place immediately and so seemed like a lie until 1980s when there was a great change in terms of rampant spread of computer technology and it was like rumor come true. This shows that however much rumor may not be known about the amount of truth present in it, there is some fact that may have driven the rumor to come out. Like the rumor, which spread in 1920s about the alligator, it took a very long period in order to come and take place (Rosen and Behrens, 23). It’s so hard to believe some things talked around that they will come and happen in future if long time is engaged, this rumor may become redundant and it may seem like as if it will not happen. But as time goes by it comes to happen like the case of alligators which came to take place in 1980s. Many people today talk differently about the coming future and the changes that are expected. It is so hard to know exactly where the truth lies because no one knows what the future holds for us, but with many changes taking place around, there is a tendency of this things talked about to take place, like for instance the change with technology into a very high and competitive technological world. It is so definite because everything today is embracing the changes in the new technological environment (Rosen and Behrens, 180). Various institutions are upgrading their administration standard in terms of office management, communication, machinery and many other ways as far the new technology is concerned. In institutions like schools, the system of education has changed because of the fear of what the world will be in future (Rosen and Behrens, 201). This is because there is too much of rumor spreading around about the new modern world and therefore making the learning system to change making the upcoming students to fit in the expected change that may globally be experienced. This shows that rumor may trigger something in the society that may lead into people changing character and way of life in the society (Rosen and Behrens, 2012). Many institutions are sending its employees for on job training so that to enable them catch up with the changes. They take too much time to study about what may come to be the future and the problem, which may occur if ignorance is applied, and thus take a step of taking its employees for more studies in order to escape the danger that may come out of ignoring the rumor spread about the changes coming in future. At some point, people may tend to ignore, it is not a must that when there is a rumor spreading around about something people should accept or even feel threatened because of the fear of the unknown that is expected to affect them in the coming future. For instance, there is a rumor that has been going on around since early 90s that the ozone layer has broken and therefore the sun is expected to grow hotter than normal (Rosen and Behrens, 176). It was a rumor spread all over for a very long period of time and even up to today is faintly heard, but who is listening to that! It all remained as a rumor and nothing else more than that. Though such kind of information was ignored, at some point its very dangerous to ignore a rumor because it may be carrying some truth which may come to affect the society in future. It is good to take precautions and also good time to study about something however much you know it may not be hundred percent true, this is very important because if the truth may be lying in it, you will escape the danger that may probably occur because of ignorance. Rumors give the mind a good mind set; it allows someone to get well prepared for any outcome about the rumor. Just like the time rumors about alligators, though there was doubt, people were well set about anything that was to come out as far as the changes were concerned. They were not caught in ambush by 1980s when the truth came to take place; they were just confirming what some couple of years was like a rumor before. This shows that when a rumor spreads, it gives you an early preparation over any results, be it positive or negative. This will help someone to be ready for the future changes that may occur in any way. All these shows that rumor contain both true and false information. What the society needs is credible information. The more information is accurate the higher the chances it can give a helping hand to the society. Therefore, there rises a need for accurate information. A lot of information has been put forward and their creditability tested. These sources are highly regarded by the society as giving out correct information of something. One of these sources is the scientific research. Many researches have been conducted to determine the credibility of information. At the end, they have to give a proof to the existence of the information. One of the researches that have been conducted is the happiness research. The research states that people who are happy throughout the day are less by 35% to die in their life span. This is another case of information going around to the society. This approach has differed with the historical philosophers. First, the research has defined what happiness is. Different people have different definition of the same thing. so in this approach, the person who receives information is going to use the definition from the source of information when judging the information. As a result, this will reduce misinformation from the source of information. Actually, everything in this world has its own pitfall. From that, it is evidence that although this source of information is considered to be of high accurate, it has its own problem. One of the problems is that, some source will fail to agree in another source definition. This led the others to claim that the information given out is not valid because of information. In our case of happiness research, Mark Kingwell who was also a philosopher claimed that the definition that was given by “what is happiness” was not satisfactory (Rosen and Behrens, 201). Mark said the word happiness could be well defined as “a mug’s game”. This is to say that no one can win this game (Rosen and Behrens, 306). Mark considered the fact that different people are satisfied differently. One person’s satisfaction cannot be considered another person’s satisfaction. This is because different people have different standard of satisfaction. Satisfaction is considered one of the key for happiness. If the research of happiness is put into consideration according to mark view of things, then it shows that the research information is not valid or simply the information is wrong. This is because a distinctive line cannot be drawn to differentiate people who are not happy from the one who are happy. They are all mixed up because of different level of satisfaction. When we consider this information to the society, it has already reached the society long before Mark’s claim. People read and heard information of this research from this research team. After sometimes, information came out that what they had already considered to be true is wrong. These leave some group of the society to take it as rumor (Rosen and Behrens, 309). This is because the information has been trashed and is not valid any. Nevertheless, for any rumor there is some truth. For those groups of the society who agreed with the definition of the research team, the result was positive. This is because they can actually proof that study conducted is true in their field of study. The information of disapproving these studies will be considered rumor. This is because they have nothing to support their claim. This shows that different people in the society holds different beliefs concerning to what is fact and what is rumor (Rosen and Behrens, 381). What is considered as a fact to one group is a rumor to another social group and what that group considers a rumor is considered to be a fact to another social group. All these are fueled by different definition of things underlying in different individual. Therefore, some rumor are not intended but come as a matter of different definition of different things. If all people in the society could be having the same definition of things then the society could be have minimized the problem of rumor and easily remove false information from our society (Rosen and Behrens, 381). Despite the fact that scientific research heavily on the definition of the end user, the research are still going on. New information is being printed out to help the society. This information is used to warn the society of the impending danger lying. In this case, the danger will not consider whether the end user understand or does not understand (Rosen and Behrens, 408). It will hit when its time reaches. Therefore the research has to go on so as determine the real danger lying ahead of us also implement effective measures to make sure that the negative impact is minimized (Rosen and Behrens, 2012). One of the critical areas which the government has put a lot of effort in the process of research is the green power. This is because; in the history of humankind, the greenhouse has remained at a life supporting-equilibrium. The life of all living things depends on this equilibrium balance. This means that this is a sensitive thing to research. If anybody tampers with this balance then it can proof to be life threatening to our society. Actually, all factors that affect this balance should be determined and their effect measured. All people who are informed with these factors should be informed about their effect to the society (Rosen and Behrens, 2012). In the recent time, our government has been alarmed by the abnormal increase of carbon dioxide gas to our environment. This has sent the government to determine the cause of this increase. Actually, it established that many human activities have led to this increase. These activities were not there before but as time goes by they came into existing. Industrialization is one of the factors that have led to the acceleration of carbon emission to the air. Burning fossils generate more than a half of the nation electricity. This has lead to heavy infiltration of carbon to the environment. Our cars are also powered by internal combustion of fuel (Rosen and Behrens, 2012). These also add to the environmental imbalance of greenhouse gases. For this reason, the government has established policies that will guide the emission of carbon gas to our environment. This will reduce carbon emission to the environment and hence save living things. Personal view In conclusion, the carbon emission research is very important to our society. As a rule, not everybody will consider this facts; there will be some who will consider it as rumor. Nevertheless, the danger of greenhouse is real. Those who consider it rumor will also be affected. Therefore, this shows that some rumor is important. Therefore, people should not readily discard what they consider to be a rumor; rather they should analyze it first before they draw a final conclusion. Extra credits On Saturday, I attended a college-level concert called “Vocal Jazz Spring Concert”. It had Vocal Jazz I&II and Bear River High School Jazz Unlimited. There were about 200 audiences who had attended the concert. The director introduced the concert and said that it was to be a more swing event. Here is the playlist of the performed songs that day. Vocal Jazz II had the following songs; Unknown, I missed it, you are making me crazy, at the end of day, Soloist: Jessica Dacpano, spring can really hang you up to the most and a Love dance. The Bear River High School Jazz Unlimited performed, Rumor has it, where I belong, when October goes and Smack dad in middle. The Vocal Jazz I did; blues, so danco samba, Baby driver and Astrud. This concert explored how the musician rearranged the existing peace of to transform them into an original. For one to fully appreciate this concert, she needed a well tuned jazz so as to pinpoint the difference and similarities of piece. The music director provided instructions on how to listen the piece. Through the entire event, all the performing artists gave an outstanding performance. The soloist of the Soloist: Jessica Dacpano of the song at the end of day perfectly captured all the emotions of the music even for the audience. Where there was no solo, each musician played with tangible energy. The vocal jazz I took the stage to perform their songs. This group was tight meaning that they were not relaxed or tensed. Various members of the group were singing solo and duet parts throughout the set and were very impressive. Body movements created a visual rhythm that supported and emphasized the musical skills of the singers, and helped draw the audience into a closer connection with the performers and the emotions evoked by the songs. There was proper phrasing of lyrics, or allowing a chord to be heard clearly at low vocal volume. In the next piece, “Rumor has it and when October goes,” Bear River High School Jazz flexed on their own arranging abilities. They used only a subset of the ensemble, created a unique variation of the famous tune. A highlight of the piece was the mini-duet between the bass and drums. They also made creative use of the trombones, saxophones, and trumpets with each instrument playing over the other but still somehow playing as one. It was very exciting to see a fellow student share such creativity. Overall, the concert was great, but that should be expected from the Festival Jazz Ensemble.
