Pathos Ethos, Logos - Essay Example

Lecturer This paper will be seeking to identify the Ethos, Logos and Pathos based on the story “Little Girls or Little Women? The Disney Princess Effect, written by Stephanie Hanes”. The essay was written by the author with the aim of discussing the different cultures that girls have gotten used and which they emulate. The article also presents a discussion that the other media platforms like music videos, television and social media have to share the blame for the way young girls view the discussion of the elements of their sexualityWhen talking of the element of Ethos in the essay, it is practical to understand the relevance of understanding the trust worthiness of the article.

After evaluation of the piece, it is apparent that the author has done the relevant research for this article and has interviewed the relevant people whose insight is important to the discussion. Some of them are also mothers who have had to deal with the facts that their daughters are having a hard time embracing the culturally acceptable values in regards to their image and sexuality. An example is presented in regards to the idea of how much the color pink means to the girls as they can relate it to Disney Princess stories. The author talks of another source “Cinderella Ate My Daughter” used in her research which was written by Orenstein. Orenstein explains “how the color pink has become increasingly ubiquitous to the point where many young girls police each other with pink radar – if that tricycle, for instance, isnt pink, well then, you should not be riding it.”(p6) The reason for considering this quote as Pathos is the comic element attached to it with claims that no girl should be riding on a tricycle any color other than pink.
