My Motivation to become a Physician Assistant Diplomacy While it took some time for me to realize my passion to become a physician assistant, the journey to achieve this goal can be traced back to my area of specialization in the field of nursing. Having completed my bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management, I worked as a nursing technician in hospital inpatient cardiac floor for 5 years. During this time, I came to learn that health care in the USA was not a priority since most people had to choose between taking insurances and providing other essentials to their families.

It was at this point that I began to understand the urgent need for quality healthcare for the middle class population. I started researching on this area as a career which would put me in a position to help people (Ballweg 123).As a way of getting to know the profession better, I did 90 hours of volunteer work with the state of Maryland transit administration as a medical associate and further acquired 30 hours of PA shadowing to know about the profession. During this time, I had the chance to talk to several physician assistants who provided me with useful information on what it takes to be a successful PA (Ballweg 124).

Once I qualify as a PA, I will strive to develop a relationship with each patient and tirelessly work towards making a difference in his or her lives. Additionally, I will always maintain ethics that govern this practice to ensure clients get access to quality health care services.Works CitedBallweg, Ruth. Physician Assistant: A Guide to Clinical Practice. Philadelphia, PA: Elsevier/Saunders, 2013. Print.
