Constitution consists of the statute law (Acts of Parliament), common law (judge-made law), some ancient documents like the Magna Carta, and the more recent EU Law.

The Electoral Process: Britain is divided into 650 constituencies each with an MP in the House of Commons. General Elections are by secret ballot. The majority party forms the government. There may be an absolute majority or hung parliament.
Parliamentary procedure: Debates in the Houses of Parliament are decided by a majority vote. In the Commons, the MPs vote yes or no and may also abstain from voting.

Legislative Proceedings: The creation of a new law and the changes to existing laws are the responsibility of Parliament. Bills must pass through both Houses and receive the Royal Assent before they become law.

The Government: The British government is centered on Whitehall in London. The Cabinet consists of 22 senior ministers chosen by the PM. Government departments are the main instruments by which Government implements its policies
